Mama Maria's Pizzeria & Subs

Have had pizza carry out and eat inside. Love it there. Best we've found in the area.
Have seen someone with the calzone and I'm trying that next time we're in.

Salads are very good, but forget about the pizza. Ordered a large, and the crust tasted like it was in the freezer for 2 weeks. Definitely not a fresh dough pizza. Don't waste your money here, too many other good plzza places to go to!

Closes at 9:00 but you can't get anything after 8:30. Sometimes the ovens are off, the bread has been put back in the freezer or the grill is closed down. If you are up for surprises, don't plan on getting what you paid for. I have heard the excuse that after an hour wait for a delivery (next door) they forgot about it and it has been sitting for 50 or more minutes. I have returned a hot sandwich waited yet another 25 minutes to find that they gave me back the same one and still cold and soggy. POOR MANAGEMENT POOR WORK ETHIC

Find a different place to go. Mama Maria's has terrible service and worse than terrible customer service. I was once a long-time customer of Mama Maria's and after being treated so poorly as a customer and faithfully waiting for below-par service I have realized that the food is not worth any of that. There are enough alternative places to visit! We work hard for our money, better to spend it at places that appreciate the business.

We have been getting Mama Maria's take out pizza for probably 10 years. Yes, the restaurant is small, but worth the wait!!! We have tried almost all of the other pizzerias in Venice and NONE come close!!! It is excellent!!!!

We were all set for a pizza night with family at Mama Maria's. Our party of 6 patiently waited for 1 1/2 hours while watching patron after patron being seated. The restaurant apparently is very small and does not accommondate larger parties. We didn't understand why they wouldn't pull 2 tables together to seat us. After 1 1/2 hours and being the only ones left waiting for a table, we asked when we would be seated. The owner got offended said "Hey, that's the way it goes." Upon his response, we left and went to Amore's and had a wonderful pizza dinner. This restaurant's seating policy needs revised and also the owner needs to take a few anger/stress management classes.
