I stop by here every Sunday before church to pick up donuts for the Sunday school class! Great tasting donuts (and coffee) at affordable prices!

One taste... and you're addicted!

Jim's Donuts has been a frequent stop for myself and family for years. We get that craving and off to Vandalia we go. The best part about this shop.... the donuts are always fresh, made daily. So go in on a Sunday afternoon or late on a Thursday and they always taste like they just came out of the back. Jim's has a great variety and the staff always greets you when you come in. This place definitely has the warm mom and pop feel which is nice from the hussel or rush you feel in most chains! If you love donuts you're going to love this little shop!

Good donuts, questionable health standards.

I really like Jim's Donuts. I am a serious lover of sweets, and the Dayton area isn't exactly overflowing with great mom-and-pop bakeries and/or other goodie shops.

My family and I have frequented Jim's Donuts at least once a month for the past several months. So you could say that all in all, I've visited perhaps 10-12 times, each time purchasing a dozen.

On two separate occasions, I have found a hair in the frosting of my donuts. The first time, I shrugged it off, figuring that anyone can have a fluke. But twice? In less than a year's time? From the same place? That's unacceptable.

Needless to say, each time I've found a hair, it has all but wiped out my appetite and actually made me feel a bit queasy (mentally, at least). And that's a crying shame, since I love a good donut!

I suppose my search for donuts in the area is back on. I can no longer frequent this shop since I'm now officially paranoid about what I might find. In the era of hairnets and rather strict health and sanitation standards, this is highly disappointing. Feel free to eat there if you're a little less squeamish than I, but if you're anything like me, go elsewhere.
