I was forwarned by people referring me to this summer time job that the person in charge of the hiring department and overseeing the programs was extremely unorganized and fails to follow through with things regularly. So when I applied for this position I made sure to rely only upon my own follow and be very proactive for following up on my application, scheduling the interview and background check, scheduling my training after my hiring and repeatedly requesting my start date and summer schedule. Once all items were successfully completed and my training paid for and completed, I called and emailed both the woman in charge of the programs and the hiring, and her assistant, but none of them would return a phone call or email to let me know start date or schedule. It is almost halfway through the summer, and at this point I have no chance at getting hey job position elsewhere. I was completely led to believe that I was hired and would be working, and was even told they needed to hire an additional 25-30 people still. My entire financial/employment situation has been compromised due to the unprofessionalism and on reliability of this hiring department. If they didn't plan to work me, then they should not be charging us costs for the day training much less telling people that they have been hired. I strongly recommend that people not stop looking for work even if they are hired and promised work with Parks and recreation.
