In a sentence, while my cat seems to have received competent and satisfactory care, I did not like the way my pet was handled by the vet and the tech as if she were nothing more than a piece of meat.
The front office staff was very friendly and helpful, both on the phone and once I was on site. But in the exam room, things went south fast. I'm used to straight-up, here-are-the-facts vet care for my pet, being from the east side of the Cascades. My home vet (who handles everything from cattle, horses and swine to house pets) is direct, but also understanding and compassionate; she cares about both the pet and the owner.
At VCA East Mill Plain Hospital, my cat was not comforted in a strange, scary environment. She was not pet nor talked to, other than by me prior to the exam. Rather, she was handled indifferently. The treatment was not rough, but, in my opinion, callous. My cat became more and more scared and agitated as the exam went on. Usually cooperative during an exam, she eventually hissed and lashed out at the vet. Finally, she loosed her bowels.
We will not be back, as I've had better service and know it's out there to be had.
