Be Careful Where you Step



It started with my call on Friday. I called and spoke with Kevin. I told him that I needed to have a a/c compressor replaced and wanted to see if I could get a quote for a 2008 Ford Explorer 4.0L. Kevin told me that there are so many variants that he could not give me a accurate quote over the phone and I would have to come in and they would inspect it free of charge. My wife and I arrived at 3:30pm (1.5 hours later). They did NOT do an inspection and quoted $1062 for the a/c compressor and a serpentine belt replacement (based on my wife's explanation of the WRITTEN estimate received from GAYNORS - $1044 for a/c compressor and serpentine belt). I asked for a written estimate and Kevin told me their system cannot print out an estimate but that was the cost after taxes and after he reduced the price $100. No Estimate?? This is a little questionable. But I dismissed it and continued to ask if it was a kit and if the accumulator was being replaced.. Kevin said that it just shows that it's a kit and they replace what it comes with. He said he was getting off in 8 minutes and needed to know if we wanted the work done so they can get it ordered. Reluctantly, I committed because I did not want my wife to continue driving the vehicle while the compressor was grinding LOUD (metal flakes were seen inside the engine compartment). He said he would call us on Saturday morning with a status. I ended up calling him just after 10am and Kevin said that he would have it repaired and ready by late Monday or Tuesday morning. My wife received a call, late Monday, from Amber stating the vehicle was ready and that the total was $1046.37 which did not include the serpentine belt because it did not need to be replaced. I am now wondering what the cost for the serpentine belt and replacement for my vehicle is - Surely not $20. I honestly felt a little uneasy with having my vehicle repaired here. I felt that we did not get the service that they say they offer. We almost came and got it on Saturday, but I was comforted by Gaynors automotive that there should not be any surprises in this repair. So we decided to bite the bullet. I would not recommend you take your vehicle here unless they INSPECT it as promised, commit to the price/repairs as initially found from the inspection, AND are willing to give you a WRITTEN estimate. Maybe they forgot to discount the $100 as promised, but a written estimate would of been a good reminder.

WARNING: Worst, Dishonest and a car Sabotaging business!! First off the reason you do not see any recent bad reviews is because they tell people to remove bad posts in order to ‘fix’ the problems they create. I took my car in here a few months ago and they advise I had a bad fuel pump ($1200). They replaced it, and I ended up having my car towed out of their parking lot because they stated it was ‘other problems and I would not pay to have them fix it.’ – FYI they were going to charge me another $131 just to look at it because you know, they just did that so I should have to pay again. I made reviews about the business and they said if I took the posts off, they would help me with the problem. They apologized for how I was treated and paid to have my car towed back to the shop for repairs. They then admitted it was an issue with the new fuel pump I had them replace, and that they did not honestly do their inspection. Fast forward to today and my car almost blew up with me inside! Turns out their ‘fixes’ were actually sabotage. The fuel was leaking out of the fuel pump but my gas tank showed full because they tweaked it so I could never see how much fuel I was losing. After getting towed again, there were issues with how they installed the pump and was advised I was lucky to be alive – the car literally could have blown up!! Also, the mechanic advised that there were certain things that looked like it was sabotage because they were upset with fixing the problem. I am at a loss and cannot even describe how horrible this is and how much this has effected my life. Guess what MTA – I’m NEVER removing this post and hope it bring insight to others about your ‘services’ before they have to experience this for themselves.

First accident - took my car here because they were the first to actually answer my phone call. Other shops I had to leave a voicemail.

The guy that worked with us, Kevin, was helpful and informative. I was VERY impressed with the customer service.

When we dropped the car off after an early morning collision - I was ready to have to pay a cab to take me to work. INSTEAD, he let my boyfriend use their company vehicle to drive me right down 4th Plain to work.

Then later, called and reserved a vehicle at Enterprise for us for this weekend. Since it is the day after Christmas, Enterprise was really low on cars - if there wasn't a reservation, they wouldn't have had one for us. I was blown away at how we were taken care of.



I will recommend this shop to anyone, every day of the week.

Great shop been going here for years. Just had work done and they got it done way before we though. Really love the fact they are open 7 days a week.

If you visit Mastertech Auto you would KNOW that the service is efficient, fair, & well priced. For the same problem Mastertech quoted me a price that was almost 2/3 less then the first place I took my car. But don't let the price fool you, the service quality easily DESERVES 5 stars & more!

When you take your car to Mastertech Automotive you can be sure they not only service your car as requested, but they will also often times find safety repairs which could save you from a tragic experience. It is such a comfort as a Vancouver resident to have an auto service in town which you can trust to provide satisfied service all the time.

This is a really great shop to get your car serviced. I go here a lot and they always do a fantastic job. They guys here are honest and reliable, and the prices are great.

I always get great customer service and repair work at Mastertech Automotive. They are always happy to help you and your car in anyway that they can. They are inexpensive and I would recommend them to anyone.

I had to go and get my 30,000 mile check up and I had no idea where to go until a co-worker suggested that I go to Mastertech Automotive. I am sure glad that he told me about them. They are fantastic. They do stellar work and are so friendly considering they do hard labor all day. I highly recommend them to anyone, just like my co-worker.

You need to bring your vehicle here asap. The general manager quoted me to my satisfaction. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I found this auto shop on the internet yesterday at noon and called to see if they could fit me in that day. I needed new tires, a tune up, and an oil change. They fit me in immediately. When I got there, they gave a quote on the tires and all the work, they told me how long it would take, and then they gave me a ride home! They called me when the work was done and then they came to pick me up! I have an older model car, and it can be hard to work on, the owner looked out for me and found me the best tires, and when the ignition wires broke (they were the original wires and my car is an '85 buick,) he replaced them and didn't charge me for the labor. Everyone was professional, friendly, and honest. They kept to the original quote, and the service was fantastic! I now have an auto repair shop I can trust, I'll be going back to them for maintenance and repairs from now on.
