Deplorable Care

Don't take your dog to see Dr. Pitt if you want your dog treated well. If you are concerned about your dogs health don't take your dog to see Dr. Pitt! My dog was suffering greatly when I took him to be seen by Dr. Pitt. All Dr. Pitt was concerned with was getting paid. The doctor should understand that the pet's owners are dealing with stress, also. Dr. Pitt should take the time to explain what is happening to the animals. If he had done that I would not have felt he was just trying to push a lot of expensive tests on me. When I balked at the costs of the tests he was very rude. No alternative possibilities were recommended. He did not want to discuss the medication my dog was taking that he prescribed, which could be causing the problems my dog was having. After I questioned the necessity of the tests he was visibly angry and gave no concern to my stress. After all, my dog was dying. I was able to get more information about my dogs condition from Google than I got from Dr. Pitt. I will never take another animal to Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital. If you care about your animals, don't let Dr. Pitt near them. In my opinion, all he is concerned with is how much money he can get from you!

I feel sorry that Dr. Pitt is obviously unaware that his employees are running customers away. Even if this were the last clinic available, I would avoid it in order to avoid dealing with the rude and unhelpful staff at this clinic.

They have lost me as a client and I will recommend every pet owner that I know avoid this clinic as well.

Michael Pitt misdiagnosed my dog in two very serious ways. He is a HORRIBLE veterinarian that lies to get your money. I wish I had read the reviews before I went to him. Apparently several dogs have died because of his misdiagnosis. Fortunately my dog is perfectly fine because I got a second opinion. First, he told me my dog had a tumor on his eye that will need to get surgically removed. The wonderful vet that I went to for the second opinion said it was just swollen from a cut. He prescribed an ointment that has reduced the swelling by 50% in 2 days. There was no tumor and cut is healing really well! Second, Pitt claimed that my dog had an ear infection. He charged me for an infection ointment my dog did not need. The doctor I went to for the second opinion sent a camera down his ear and found that it was perfectly fine. In fact he said, "his ears look great. Better than most dogs. There is no infection." This man does not deserve to be near our amazing pets.

I'm new to the area and needed a vet orthopedic surgeon when my lab Sabena tore her ACL at the dog park. After researching and speaking to other dog owners, I found this place. The orthopedic consult was free. I was seen by a very nice and concerned vet Dr Pitt. He spent almost an hour going over her injury, recovery time and what caused her ACL tear. He has a vet orthopedic surgeon on staff and they performed a procedure called a TPLO on her the next day. The fee at $2900 flat was much lower than I had been quoted at 2 other places. She went home the following morning with a bandage and meds. It's been 7 days now and I'm blown away at how well she is walking. Follow ups are quick and easy. The staff and nurses are very caring and friendly. Very grateful for the good work and Sabena gives them a big lick on the face. I will start using this vet for any other problems.

Excellent first visit. The facility is clean and the staff greet you right when walking in. The vet Dr. Pitt was kind and did a good exam job and figured out my pets skin issues in about 5 minutes. My lab is doing well and I return this this vet facility in the future.

Excellent first time visit. My pet lab Genna broke her nail at the dog park yesterday and I found them to be the only clinic open on Sunday. The staff was great. Dr. Oh explained what we needed to do and I left her for a few hours. When I returned she was fully awake and doing great. Vet prices are high, but Mid Valley seemed very reasonable. Will recommend to any pet owner.

Excellent first visit. My lab suddenly

Excellent first visit. My lab suddenly became ill over Memorial Day, After going online and calling several closed vets, I came across Mid Valley Vet.
They told me to bring her right down. I found the staff to be warm and caring. The facility was clean with no smell. I was seen by a very warm and caring vet within 15 minutes. She did a very good exam and diagnosed her with an acute gastritis. She never even mentioned money and seemed to care more about getting Mandy better. After a blood and stool test, they gave her a few shots and sent me home with some pills.
The next day Mandy was back to normal.

Very impressed with this vet hospital and the quality of care. Highly recommend them after my first visit and will go back again if needed.

Terrible, uncompassionate vet!! Never go! All about $$

Took my cat over the weekend, hanging on to dear life. turned out he only had a bladder problem, they flushed it out with a catherter. Vet told me, my cat needed to stay 2-4 days and the bill would be $2100. He was a 3 year old cat and Dr. Pitt said he had a 60% chance to live. told him I could only afford $500. in my desperate need, devastated, crying at his office he has the nerve to say ""call your credit card and ask for more money or call around to borrow the money"". Then he lectured me that pet owners need to take the responsiblity and have money set aside for emergencies like this and so on. So then he comes back in the room and says he will lower price to $1100. After I pleaded with him he said since I could not pay I needed to sign over my pet to his care. I told him I can take the cat somewhere else and he said"" I can be a DICK and calll the city on you"" how unprofessional!. He would not even give me my cat back!! So he gave me no other option but to sign him over. He said he would put him up for adoption. So instead of him offering me a payment plan and accepting my $500, he instead just wanted my money and not even try to help us out!! My cat didn't even need surgery, I cant imagine how much he would charge! I will never take my dogs back not even refer to him ever again!!!

Excellent first time visit.. Highly recommend this great vet

Found this vet online last week when my outside cat got into a cat fight. Was seen promptly by a very nice female vet. An estimate was given prior to any service done. They fixed Zoey up with stiches and she was ready to be picked up in 4 hours.

The office was clean and modern. The front staff were warm and friendly. Parking was plentiful. NO complaints at all. Will go back next time I need veterinary services or surgery. Highly recommend Mid Valley Vet.

Saved my puppy with parvo and helped with the costs!! A

3 weeks ago my lab puppy Tammy was very sick with vomiting and blood diarrheaa. I called around and found a very symphathetic vet, Mid Valley Vet Hospital. On the phone I explained that I adopted the puppy from Lab Rescue and being a CSUN student I was not in a very good financial situation. The kind nurse on the phone told me to bring my pet in and that we would fiqure out whats wrong with her and help in any way we could.

At 7:30 pm on a Friday I brought Tammy in and found a very warm, clean and caring vet hospital. In about 10 minutes a vet, Dr. Michael Pitt came in and did a good exam on her.. After running a couple of tests he diagnosed her as being very sick with a virus called Parvo.

I found out this is a very serious and deadly condition and she would need to stay in the hospital for treatment.

I was given an estimate that was reasonable but much more than I could afford. I spoke to the nurse and was very honest about my financial situation being a student.

Ths nurse, Cindy got authorization to charge me a flat and reduced fee that was very reasonalble and affordable with my finances.

Four days later I took her home. She was back to normal.

I will always be thankful to Mid Valley Vet Hospital for both taking care of her and helping me out with the bill.

I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful and caring vet and give them an A++++ for all their help and understanding.

just my two cents.

Expensive and avoid Dr. Kim

ive taken my dogs to this ""hospital"" a few times. its always clean and has decent, mixed reviews. the staff is usually friendly. the cost is always high at this place. we took our pups for the shot clinic and it was still quite a bit higher than other places we checked out. we did have our mastiff neutered here and it was a little expensive but not TOO expensive and they seemed to do a good job. we've dealt with Dr. Kim on a few occassions and i was less than impressed with her attitude. ive been to a few vets in the SFV and most are always nice and talkative and seem to care about the animals. i finally decided to move on after reading some of these other reviews and finding another vet in the area with even better reviews.

Best in Breed! Dog and cat breed that is...

First time client last Sunday. My cat was hit by a car early in the morning and I did a Google search in the Reseda area and found Mid Valley Vet Hospital. i called and was surprised to find them open at 8am on sunday. The gal who answered, Lucy was her name, was terrific. Warm and compassionate. She said bring your pet in ASAP. NO MENTION OF MONEY WAS MADE!! Her concern was just for my pet. When I arrived she was seen pronto. A very nice and pretty vet Dr. Kim walked in right away. She performed a good physical exam and recommended some xrays and lab test to make sure my kitty was ok. After about 20 minutes she returned to tell me that Jocelyn our kitty had a broken rear leg but that a splint should fix her up and surgery wasn't indicated. They gave me a very reasonable estimate and I am happy to say that our kitty is doing fine, albeit confined to house arrest. My first time experience at this new vet was excellent. The vet and supporting staff were professional and compassionate. I highly recommend Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys for any animal emergency for vet issues. Jocelyn and I say a big thanks guys!

My dog had parvo disease and Mid Valley Vet saved her!!

Last week my 8 week old lab started to vomit and have bloody diarhea. I found Mid Valley Vet Hospital in Van Nuys open on sunday. I took her there to be examined. I was warmly welcomed and seen very quickly. After doing a test the vet came in and said she was very sick with parvo. My problem is that Im a student and have limited savings. A employee came in the room with an estimate that was reasonable but more than I could afford. I then told my story about being a student with very little savings to a very caring nurse named Jack. After some discussion he was very cool and got an ok to give me a huge money break. They just charged me a very fair flat fee and said the price wouldnt go up no matter how long she was sick. Im VERY HAPPY TO SAY that after 3 days she was doing much better and eating. With a warm heart I say THANK YOU Mid Valley Vet for understanding my money problemes, working with me, and healing my dog. I will be a customer for life, and my lab Penny thanks you a million.. I highly recommend this vet as they are caring and compasstionate and will work with you if you have money problems.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - REFUSED SERVICE

Today I helped rescue a dog that had been hit by a car. This Vet was the closest and we rushed the dog over for medical help. The vet refused to come out from the back office and told the receptionist that they would not look at the dog unless we left a deposit. The dog was hit by a car and the vet refused to even talk to us face to face!! They said that if they did anything they could lose their license - PLEASE!!! I took the dog to West Valley Animal Control and they lovingly took the dog. They said that it is possible that had this ""Vet"", and I use the term loosely, that they may have been able to save the dog. Unfortunately the dog had to be put down, no thanks to these people. I am happy that they are NOT my vet as they care more about doing nothing than doing what is right. It's painfully (mostly for the poor Shepherd who was suffering) obvious that a love of animals is not the prevailing reason for this veterinary clinic to be open.... A love of MONEY is sadly apparent. There are hundreds of vets in the valley... AVOID this one!
