Integrated Physical Therapy (or Integrated Therapy Practice) of Valparaiso is AMAZING!The evaluator was Karen in Crown Point (that was the soonest I could be evaluated, so I chose Crown Point) but they have many other offices. Karen is AMAZING in her knowledge, bedside manner, evaluation, and treatment. She knew things that turned out to be true, AFTER MRI's came through. :)For Valparaiso, DOUG MADDOX, is absolutely amazing!I made the mistake of originally going to Porter Education & Rehabilitation Facility in Valparaiso, where initially I was on heat and stim, but then a woman PT treated me aggressively, against my wishes, before my MRI results came in, causing me to be immobilized for FIVE DAYS, with continuing increasing pain. I saw my doctor and switched to Integrated Physical Therapy (Integrated Therapy Practice) of Valparaiso, seeing DOUG MADDOX. His schedule is tight, but its SOO WORTH IT. Between the exercise regiment, lifestyle change & body mechanics education and management to reduce further injury and inflammation, and the manual therapy, I am NOW ABLE TO MOVE! I can lift (up to 30 lbs), and move around and do some of the things I was able to do before I was injured. I am very young to have the injuries to my spine that I do, and was facing pain and narcotic and steroid medications. I am able to avoid them by seeing Mr. Maddox at Integrated Physical Therapy twice per week!Absolutely amazing! I have no doubt that, with continued treatment, I may actually be able to function at 60-75% of my pre-injury normal abilities. This is a MASSIVE INCREASE from complete immobility and intense pain for three days, and partial immobility with intense pain and migraines for an additional two days as I received from PORTER EDUCATION & REHAB of Valparaiso. It is WELL WORTH IT to insist on Doug Maddox at Integrated Physical Practice. He was recommended to me, as was the founder, and I was not dismayed. Also, Karen is amazing - of Crown Point. If you are in that area, she does wonderful work as well.I was recommended to the owner, originally, but he has stopped practicing in the area. Originally I was defeated, until I saw Karen and Doug.
