had a strong gas fume smell in the car. Clements pressure tested it, drove it around, examined under it. Did not find the problem but it seems that the testing must have adjusted the problem. They also found a loose heat shield that was making problems and clamped it. Very good service. Will be taking car back for brake and shock service

My wife went there for a tire repair in the process of removing the tire from the rim the owner Mike broke the tire inflation monitor inside the rim (which was working flawlessly before they worked on it) at this time I had arrived to witness to him questioning my wife about if she ran the tire flat even though she said it only got down to 15 psi he accused her of breaking the monitor. After talking to a Ford dealership which told me that they can not get broken by running the tire flat, which it wasn't but are normally broken by miss use of a tire machine , I returned and confronted Mike with this fact, again he was very rude and threw the sensor on the counter told me in no uncertain terms its your word against mine and he wasn't going to fix it. Unless you want to deal with an very unsavory type of business owner like Mike who doesn't stand by his work I highly recommend to stay away. It going to cost me well over 300.00 please don't press your luck with this guy what a jerk.
I don't think that old review from 2011 is talking about Gill's in Valparaiso, because these guys are great. I've been using them for seven years since moving to Valpo. Time and time again, they diagnose a "no repair needed" or a "less of a problem than you brought it in for," costing me less money over the years that any place that ever has repaired my car. When they do find a problem, they find a way to save money, they get it done well, and the repairs hold--I can't think of anything that needed two trips to get fixed. I have brought all kinds of cars to them--1974 Caddie, 2000 Ford, 2002 Chrysler, 2006 Kia, 2007 Audi, 2009 Honda -- no problem with any of these makes.
We have used several of their services and have always been treated well in both respect and price. The work always held up as expected and the prices were competitive. I intend to have them do a tune up as soon as possible this month. If you don't see a new post, this post stands as my assessment of the company.

Incredibly pleased with the pricing, quality, and service provided by this company. A few months ago, my car broke down about a mile away. I walked to the lot thinking maybe they would help. They helped me get my car going and I even offered to give them money but they would not accept anything, just wanted to help someone in need. I definitely remembered their good deeds when I was shopping for my wife's car- I only had one place that I would be buying my next car from! Very grateful for their help and not to mention their pricing. Well below the other dealers, and more importantly they don't sell anything that was junk! Something else I noticed- if you drive by the car lot frequently- take a look at what cars are there. You won't see the same cars sitting there for weeks on end- they move a lot of vehicles!!
