California Institute of Arts, established in 1961, is a higher educational center that offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs in visual and performing arts. It provides studies in critical art studies, dance, film, video, music and theater. The school is located in Valencia, Calif., and has an enrollment of more than 1,200 students. The school of art offers various programs for professional training in fine arts, graphic designing and photography. The dance school provides studies in performance, choreography, production, and interactive and digital technologies. The dance coursework includes classes in dance history, functional anatomy, physiology of exercise, body conditioning, yoga, music, video and theatrical presentation and design.
