The South Georgia Regional Development Center, also known as SGRDC, assists local governments in the areas of comprehensive planning, local development regulations and specialized planning studies. Its economic development program focuses on the improvement of the economic condition of businesses and communities in southern Georgia. SGRDC s Geographic Information Services program develops and maintains geographic information system data and applications. It also offers the Information Technology Services Program, which provides electronic data processing and information handling-related services. The center also develops and updates personnel policies and procedures, as well as monitors state and federal employment laws and regulations. Its workforce development program provides training opportunities for unemployed, underemployed and dislocated workers. The South Georgia Regional Development Center is located in Valdosta, Ga.
