Regina was great. For the past year, I have been relying on Lifebooker to book cheap haircuts at expensive places. The only problem is, the times I can book are odd, and you should tip on the original amount. W/ Lifebooker I felt pressure to go to a different place every time, because a lot of the places seem like their deals are for first-timers. I really wanted to find a hairdresser I like and stick to going to the same place, so I looked up where the cheapest and best is and came across the thousands of great reviews for Astor Place. Based on the reviews [and common sense], obviously your experience depends on who specifically you go to. So I tried to find someone who was always well reviewed by women, and narrowed it down to a ranked list of who my choices would be. First on my list was Regina, and lucky me, she was working on a man's haircut with no one waiting when I got there. The place I went before was less than stellar and charged almost 3x the price [though I had a HomeRum deal which made it cheaper]. The place before gave me layers that were way too drastic for my hair type and thickness. I explained what I needed [evening out of the layers] and she knew right away what I was talking about [agreed that the other place screwed me]. I personally don't like being pressured to talk the whole time, and Regina is great if you're like that. She isn't cold either - she just is good at reading what kind of person you are and if you're into small talk or not. She is unassuming and basically blushed when I explained I was going to her based on reviews I read online. She is definitely popular with men, while she was finishing my blow dry, she accrued a line of 5 men, all willing to wait it out to have her cut their hair. Note: if you prefer a shiny/posh/modern environment this is not the place for you. It is run-down and "hole in the wall". It is cash only but they have an ATM inside. Not many high-end products from what I can tell, tons of people, tons of stations cluttered with personal effects. But, I think it's charming.

My stylist - Mary, was AMAZING, not only was she fantasticly friendly, she listened to my concerns and did a BRILL job on my hair! I have relaxed hair and I am soooo particular about people drying and/or flat ironing my hair, as im often nervous i'll leave looking like a mushroom - on the contrary - Mary was the bee's knees! and I cant wait to go back! I LOVE THIS PLACE! I mean, everyone there is really nice! Me and my friend walked in with a certain look in mind, and boy did they come through. My stylist had awesome hair (which always makes me more comfotable) and gave me the best head massage while shampooing. Once the blow dry began all the stylists attenedees were joined in one converstaion....a good sign of great commnication and fun during what can be a tetious process. I opted for the Hollywood but told my stylist not to make me look cheesy. She did an amazing job that lasted 3 more days (perfectly).
I absolutely love the Great Lengths Hair Extensions I am new to New York City, and had been researching hair extension salons and different methods, going for my free consultation I knew this was the one that I wanted to do my Great Lengths extensions. This salon was completely honest with me with every detail about the process and recommended the length and hair that they thought would be perfect and safe for my hair. I have gotten SOOOO many compliments on my hair..Nobody can even tell I have extensions unless I choose to tell them. Everyone that I do tell, asks where I get them done at because they look amazing and even say, "wow whoever did you hair, did a great job" They 100 percent honest and will give you the best advice on your hair! You will leave the salon feeling confident, satisfied, and very happy with your new hair!! Great service, good prices and very friendly atmosphere!…
I'm there at Macy's herald square aleast once a week. My Offices are only 2 blocks away.I've never ventured off to the basement area before. Anyway, to my surprise I came across oneblowdrybar. It looked amazing , Like it should be at Bloomingdales instead. The customer service was terrific & they had fit me right in without an appointment . Francesca had done a awesome blowout on me. I'm excited that my favorite store has this upscale blow dry bar. If I hadn't ventured off to the basement, I wouldn't have known about the oneblowdrybar. Macy's should have signs around the store , it's a hot commodity these days! I looked everywhere and no signs. I had even went on macys webisite and no mention of it . I did see a 15'sec , vague video by the elevators on the first floor. It was so vague , I thought it was an advertisement for makeup. When I finally left the store, I had put the two & Two together.
I was randomly in the area and was able to get an appointment about 10 minutes after I called. But it was a Monday so I can imagine they weren't that busy. My stylist was nice, i kinda felt bad for her since I have sooo much hair, it took her forever to blow dry it. She didn't talk to me at all the entire time, but honestly sometimes I don't mind that because I just want to relax. I chose a pretty simple style and it came out cute. I just wish I could of had it done for an event then I would have gotten a more complicated style. Since I showed up a little early to my appointment, I did end up having to pay for parking (boo!) but at least it's right there & I don't have to risk getting lost! I liked it overall, I probably will be back when I have an event and I have the excuse to come back for a more glamorous style!
Loved it! Went here on Friday for a blow out for the first time. Total ease in scheduling my appointment (I scheduled online on their website). I got there and the place is absolutely adorable! I love the set up. It was very hip and contemporary. The lady who did my hair (wish I could remember her name) was awesome. She was courteous, friendly, and did my hair perfectly! I love the setup and how they have different styles that you can get for all the same price. I think that that's an awesome idea. I will definitely be back again for another blowout! Wash, dry, and style all for $50. You really can't go wrong. The atmosphere is friendly. They have music playing and TVs inside as well. There are magazines, they offer you a beverage, and it is all around a great vibe
Excellent service throughout. Once I entered the salon I was warmly greeted. I proceeded to check-in! I waited no more than 5 minutes until my stylist finished with another client. She took me to her station and we talked about what I would get done. She proceeded to walk me back to the wash room which was amazing!! I could just have my hair washed all day long here. I requested a smooth blow out and that is what I got. I don't like looking at myself on the mirror as my hair gets done so I usually immerse myself in a magazine. Luckily the station I was at had a TV right in front, so I was able to see part of a fashion runway while my hair got done. This made the whole process go a lot faster. All in all it was great hair service. I would definitely go there again

As a girl who has naturally Curly hair you can just imagine how many attempts at blowing straight my hair I've had. I was convinced no one in the world could do my hair justice. But going to GS Blow-Dry Bar Salon has made me a believer in a salon again. The staff was so sweet and the place super cute and trendy. I love the concept of a salon that focuses on blow outs, styling, and makeup. It was really cool seeing the blow dryers floating above each chair and seeing the mirrors behind the seats. Instead of focusing on the process, I sat back and enjoyed the chick flick on one of the flat screens. I was able to enjoy the end product for three days!
I would give GS Blow Dry Bar 10 starts if I could! From the moment I went there I got hooked! The salon is meticulously clean and an oasis of calm. The place is geourgous. All white. The price is reasonable. The staff is up-beat and up to date with the trends. I get compliments everytime I got my hair blown out here. Also, their blow out are fast and good. Most places I go to take more than an hour to blow dry my hair and this place gets me in and out in 25 minutes. I highly recommend this salon for weekly maintenance and special nights out. Thank you GS Blow Dry Bar for making my hair look fabulous everytime and for saving me valuable time !!
