Mrs Paige and her staff are so kind and helpful. They have helped us find the perfect gowns, shoes, and earrings. We wouldn't go anywhere else for our pageant or prom dresses. Thank you Paige, Austin, Elizabeth and the rest of the staff for being the best at what you do!!
I have bought several gowns for my daughter at this business and have been very pleased with their professional staff. They have been extremely helpful and accommodating. We drive several hours to Union City because we know that we will find what we need at a fair price. Paige, the owner and her staff are the best!! Highly recommend!
I went with my daughter to look for a homecoming dress at Joann's in Union City. We started off with a very sweet sales lady that was very knowledgeable and listened to what we were looking for. As we were trying on dresses I noticed several of the dresses actually looked worn out. Most of the dresses were not in plastic bags. I also begin to notice that the dresses had alterations inside and spray tan markings. The sales lady innocently said that she had worn several dresses in fashion shows and had them altered and and that people actually rented the dresses. I quietly told my daughter that we would ask them to order a dress because I wasn't spending $500 on a used dress. I simply explained to the sales lady that if they could order her size we would purchase the dress. My daughter had always worn a size 0 and the dress she was trying on was a 12. She was very agreeable and said she understood. Then one of the salesmen who must be like a manager took over and said no lets pin this dress our lady is here that does alterations is here. I turned to the girl and said no I do not want to have the dress altered. Taking a dress from a 12 to a 0 is too much and the netting will pull at her neck. The salesman then rudely turned to the lady that alters dresses and said are you going to get up and do your job and pin this dress? I was so embarrassed and uncomfortable in the situation and allowed the dress to be pinned. I should have left the store then. I felt sorry for the ladies and said I will buy the dress let's order one and if it can't be ordered in time I'll see about having it altered. In the mean time two disturbing things happened. The man salesman unzipped my daughters dress. I'm sorry but I raised and raised my daughter that a grown man has no business unzipping a young girl. He then came back and said you owe this amount. I was just so taken back and wanted out of this horrible place I paid and then noticed he never took her measurements to order our dress. I told him and when he took them he measured over my daughters very large belt buckle. He then said she needs a 4. I said that doesn't sound right but left as fast as we could. Outside I looked at the reciept and it said I paid for the size 12 dress to be altered. I called immediately and said no I want a new dress ordered. The lady said ok but I just knew they never intended to try and order a new dress. I called the next morning demanded a new dress to the salesman. He was so rude and started screaming on the phone. After he hung up he called back said we have a size two ordered for you. Received the dress today and it's to big! It's now being altered down to a 0 that we knew she was the whole time! Honestly Just when I thought it couldn't get worse a friend called and said they have your daughters dress in eBay from the store you tried on. $150 cheaper than what they wanted to charge me because guess what? It wasn't a new dress! Do not shop at this store! If you want one of their used rented dresses check on eBay were they have them listed and save your money!!
I was terribly disappointed in how the sales staff mishandled my order, and their treatment if me. They were extremely disorganized and very hostile and rude. In my first interaction I was confused with a previous order. I was promised multiple times that I would be called back, but never was. I sent an email and waited a week for a response. When I called to follow up I was told they never received my email. The female sales woman found it in the "trash folder" and said it must've been deleted. It ended up taking 3 weeks just to establish contact with them and place my order. This seemed like an honest mistake so I didn't mention it to the sales staff then. There was also a mix up with shipping charges. When my order arrived it didn't fit me properly. The dress was chosen for me as part of a show and I have disproportionally large breasts for my frame; which I have always been self conscious about (I wear a 34H and have never been surgically enhanced.) I contacted the store asking their advise. I was told by a male sales staff member that they could have one specially made and to call back in a week. When I called back in a week no one knew what I was taking about, and said that couldn't be done. I was then told to call the dress designer myself and they gave me the number. By this point it was less than a week before I needed the dress and I knew there would not be time to have anything made. I called the number and left a detailed message explaining my dilemma with my bust size. I called the store back to tell them the multitude of problems I encountered; more as constructive criticism. Had I not been required to work with them I would have given up long ago. I felt it might be helpful if they were aware of what I experienced so they could correct it for future clients. As I'm speaking to one woman, calmly and kindly, she just hands the phone off to the female manager, who was extremely hostile before I ever began speaking. She said someone walked up to the lady I was speaking with and that's why she passed the phone over. That was extremely unprofessional, as I was a customer too, when someone else presumably walked up. I began telling the manager everything , who then responded by criticizing me because I "choose to get large boobs", which was of course was incorrect. She then told me their store wasn't making any money off my order, so I was expecting too much from them. She then criticized me for not coming to the store in-person to "support my sponsors" and instead electing to have my order shipped. Shipping was an option given to me by the organization that sent me there, and I chose this option since the store was almost a 4 hour drive away for me. She then told me they were "busy with real customers" and didn't have time to discuss this. There is no other explanation for her treatment of me other than pure hateful. I was not hostile. She was cruel to make fun of my body, and wrong to criticize me for the cosmetic surgery she had falsely assumed I had. She was also extraordinarily unprofessional. So on top of their disorganized management of my order, the staff and manager were unprofessional and cruel. To add to all of this, after she hung up on me I received a call back from the "dress designer" they told me to call to learn that it was not a dress designer, but the head of the organization I was working with! I was mortified to know I described the fit of my dress and the size of my breasts to such a man! Absolutely mortified! I will never again visit or work with any member of staff affiliated with Joann's ever again for as long as I live. Not only were they incredibly rude, I wouldn't trust them to manage anything important. If you order a gown from there, expect it to be lost, incorrect, or otherwise wrong. And if you try to talk to anyone about it expect to not be remembered, told incorrect information, and then ridiculed and verbally assaulted.
