Atmosphere and service was pretty good but the food not so much no seasoning on anything and the steak was very tough not of good quality

Food is great, 3rd time to visit and service has been horrible each time. Missing items from plates every visit, watched our food sit on table waiting to be delivered about 10 minutes before going to get it ourselves. 2 of 3 times had to go get our own silverware.

Luv all the food-- especially the steaks. Service is great!! BUT my ONE complaint is that they are BIG on calling it a family restaurant. SO the little screaming kids are awful! Put ppl with kids in the back dining room.

I heard such good things about this place but it was NOT good! Service was horrible! I have never had fried rice with only rice and egg, grill was too high and everything was burnt on both sides. I will never go back I will stick with Shogun in Huntsville or Tokyo in Prattville. If you are ever near either one you will never return to Hokkaido.

My first time in here and the worst service ever. The owner has no remorse for his customers if they don't like their food. I ordered chicken and shrimp and the food didn't look good enough to eat and they only gave me four shrimp with the meal so I didn't want the shrimp so I asked for the steak instead which the owner said that was fine but when I got my ticket he had charged me for two meals which was a $30 ticket so he had to come back to see what's the problem and I told him then he tells me, "Who is going to pay for that because you didn't want it", never once in my whole life had a manager or the owner tell me to pay for something I didn't want. Never going back.

Service with the hostess was great. Service with the server was great. The kitchen needs to catch up with the rest of the group burgers took more than an hour on a very slow day with two people in the entire restaurant.. very dissatisfied with service

Do not walk but RUN away from this place as quickly as you can, especially if you expect to be served within 2 hours of seating. We had such high expectations of this restaurant, given comments from a few others who had eaten here in the past. Had a party of four with a 9PM reservation on a Friday night. It took around 10 minutes just for our server to even show up at the table to take a drink order. "Fast" forward another 15 minutes until the bottle of wine arrived. Really? How long does it take to retrieve a bottle and bring it to the table?Fortunately we took that opportunity to order a simple cheese platter as an appetizer, which -- again -- took another 15 minutes to arrive. It's not as if they had to cook anything... there were just slices of cheese and ham.Still, the server did not recognize that it was the appropriate time to take our order. We had to flag her down several minutes later, as it was approaching 9:45 and the kitchen would be closing soon.That's when the slow march to 11PM started. We waited, waited, waited, waited, and so on. We checked in periodically to inquire as to the status of our dinner, and at each point were given assurances as to its imminent arrival.Finally we were told that it would be 10 more minutes.... 15-20 minutes later we had enough and asked for the bill.This is where the sheer ARROGANCE of the wait and management staff kicked in. They were incredulous that we would have the gall to ask for our bill. Seriously? Two full hours of waiting for a meal, and they could not believe that we didn't have additional patience. The excuse given was that the food ticket had only been submitted 35 minutes earlier. I'm struggling to understand how it is our fault that our server waited over 20 minutes to even submit our meal order.And oh by the way, my wife is a Type 1 diabetic, and she was crashing rapidly as we waited over an hour after ordering for our meal. She nearly passed out as I walked her to our hotel room to get some sustenance.If this restaurant is in business for more than 6 months, it will be either a miracle or a crime.I wish them nothing but ill will and a rapid but painful death.(and no,... management never offered to comp anything)
