Angela is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a RN at both a pediatric urgent care clinic and a pediatric emergency department. Interstitial Cystitis
Interstitial cystitis is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the bladder characterized by the findings of bladder pain or discomfort associated with urinary urgency and frequency. Interstitial cyctitis is also characterized by the absence of a demonstrative infection.
Urinary Tract Infection
Epididymitis and orchitis are common inflammatory conditions of the scrotum. Specifically, epididymitis is an inflammation of the epididymis. This is often caused by bacteria in the urinary tract, a urinary tract infection, or bacteria passed between partners during sex. It can occur in one or both tubes, and can be acute or chronic. When the inflammation spreads to a testicle it is called orchitis.
Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is a disease that affects the cells of the prostate. The prostate gland is part of the male reproductive system. Normally, cells grow and divide in an orderly way. This is how the body grows and stays healthy. Sometimes this normal process of cell growth can go wrong. If the cells continue to divide when they're not supposed to, they can form a tumor. Cancerous prostate tumors display different behavior between individuals. If left untreated, they can block the flow of urine and spread to other parts of the body.

Ultrasound
Biopsies are minimally invasive procedures. A small amount of prostate tissue is removed by a needle inserted through the rectum. An ultrasound probe is used to guide the needle. Usually this procedure is performed as an outpatient procedure without anesthesia.
MRI
Dr. Grewal has extensive experience in minimally invasive and open surgical approaches for benign and malignant disease of the urinary tract. He practices general urology, with a special interest in kidney stone disease, prostate disorders, and robotic assisted procedures for cancers of the adrenal gland, kidney, bladder and prostate. Dr. Grewal has pioneered the use of multiparametric MRI in the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer in northeast Oklahoma. He has extensive experience in the use of MRI-ultrasound fusion for biopsy of the prostate, allowing fewer and more accurate prostate biopsies than the standard ultrasound guided procedures currently used.

General Surgery
He proceeded to Washington University in St. Louis where he completed an internship in general surgery followed by a residency in Urologic Surgery. During his residency, he was named the Resident in Excellence for 3 consecutive years (2010-2013), given by vote of the faculty to the resident who performs at the highest overall level within the Department of Urologic Surgery. He was also awarded the Scholarship Award in 2013, given to the senior resident with the highest overall score on the urology in-service examination.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
The first daVinci robotic prostatectomy performed in Tulsa was at St. John Medical Center in 2005. Since then, Urologic Specialists' surgeons have performed over 1300 robotic surgeries. Urologic Specialists continues to be on the "cutting edge" of minimally invasive surgery. Our surgeons performed the first robotic partial nephrectomy (removal of a cancerous tumor from the kidney) in 2009 and the first robotic cystectomy (removal of the bladder) in 2010. Our surgeons typically perform 10-14 robotic surgeries each week.
Vasectomy
Urologic Specialists is pleased to offer Nitrous Oxide (often known as laughing gas) for pain relief and anxiety during some in-office procedures including vasectomy, UroLift, prostate biopsy, SpaceOar and cystoscopy.
Robotic Surgery
Robotic surgery is performed using the daVinci Surgical System, an advanced system that facilitates surgical procedures through tiny incisions and laparoscopic ports. The surgeon controls the instruments from a console, and movements are filtered and scaled, resulting in enhanced precision, control, and range of motion. The specialized camera allows the surgeon to view the operation in 3-D, and the telescope enhances vision to 12x magnification, which provides greater visual detail.

This led to a general surgery internship at the University of Massachusetts followed by a residency in Urology and Transplantation. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Laparoscopy and Endourology at Duke University Medical Center.

Plastic Surgeons

Botox
The treatments progress in a logical course beginning with dietary modifications, stress modification, and in some cases pelvic physical therapy. Following these measures, the use of medications such as Elmiron, Hydroxyzine, and Amitriptyline are frequently helpful. Bladder analgesics may also be employed. Additionally, the use of intra-bladder medications may be helpful. However, in some patients, these treatments actually will flare the pain. As mentioned earlier, pelvic physical therapy can be of great benefit for patients who demonstrate pelvic floor spasm in response to their bladder discomfort. The use of medications to relax the urgency and frequency to urinate, are frequently employed. Additional treatments for this particular symptom include the use of an InterStim pacemaker or the injection of Botox into the bladder wall. More complex medical management includes use of immune modulators such as cyclosporine. In patients with severe chronic pain, chronic pain management strategies are often employed in conjunction with pain management specialists. In the most extreme cases which have been present for a long period of the time, removal of the bladder may be contemplated.
