Just went in to get a code read. Telling them I need to fix the ABS modular because I had the three amigos. I get a call back saying they couldn't fix my spongy brakes which they told me they could do it last time I was there because someone else probably didn't have the Land Rover tool that allows power brake flush. Now they couldn't because the code for ABS. The transmission heat light was on and they said it was because of ABS. I told them since I was getting everything else done there do an oil change too and they billed me $125 for synthetic oil. I've never paid over $60! The code was $150 for what I told them it was before I dropped it off. Don't use these guys unless you just have money to burn. But you will still need to get it fixed somewhere else!

The guys at O'brien are very in the know when it comes to the vehicles they work on. I own a Land Rover and they seem to be experts about all things Rover. They gave me a good estimate, and were sure to check with me before doing any major work. They even gave me a ride to work when I dropped off the car. Plus, being a 20 something, I didn't feel creeped out by the guys that helped me. I also didn't feel ripped off when I got the bill because they kept me informed. Sounds like that last guy doesn't really know how to ""communicate"" with car guys. I had everything explained to me in detail and totally understood the difference between the $139 oil change and a $40 oil change. Some things are worth the investment to keep your car going strong long term. Totally recommend O'brien to anyone who wants a trustworthy shop.

Apparently $139.99 is their standard price for a synthetic oil change. (My naive friend paid this for an oil change not knowing that most oil changes average around $40). In our experience they made guarantees for which they did not stay accountable (guaranteed no oil leaks, two weeks later the vehicle is pouring out oil). Somehow they are capable of changing oil filters without changing the oil... I would NOT endorse this business to anyone who might consider using them.
