        ABOUT KEVIN MCNAMARA, MD Kevin McNamara, MD, is a highly-skilled, board-certified gastroenterologist in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At his private practice, Dr. McNamara takes a creative and patient-centered approach to care with a focus on the relationship between patient, physician, and support services. After earning his bachelor’s degree in anthropology and pre-professional studies at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, Dr. McNamara went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, Texas, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. Dr. McNamara was encouraged to become a doctor by his fourth-grade teacher, who observed his compassion toward his friends and classmates. He eventually chose gastroenterology as his subspeciality because of its complexity as a field. Dr. McNamara specializes in a broad range of conditions, including irritable bowel syndrome, small bacterial overgrowth, hemorrhoids, and ulcerative colitis. To assist in diagnosing the underlying cause of his patient’s symptoms, such as abdominal pain, Dr. McNamara offers advanced colonoscopy and endoscopy tests. He also maintains affiliations with other local practices, including Adult Gastroenterology Associates and Tulsa Endoscopy Center, LLC. When he’s not working, Dr. McNamara likes to play golf and has won several competitive golf tournaments. He also enjoys running, and he completed a marathon during his gastroenterology fellowship.

        SO much better experience than in my previous colonoscopy exams. Colon cancer runs in my family and it is critical to have confidence in a physician who is knowledgeable with a professional team. Dr. McNamara is that, and I will return to them for the one.

        My first encounter with the doctors from AGA was immediately after an emergency surgery at St. Francis. They were wonderful. Melissa Warren is a Nurse Practitioner with AGA who I saw on several occasions while in patient. She is knowlegable and very sweet, as is Dr. Volak. I saw Dr. McNamara in his office several times and I couldn't be more pleased with him or his team. Everyone from the nursing and office staff in the clinics to the visiting physicians are fantastic. As an RN myself, I greatly respect them and all of their efforts.
