I have dealt with Larry Brown and found him to be honest and fairly priced. As long as you are not hard to deal with Larry is there for you. I would highly recommend Brown Aviation and Larry Brown.
Estimate for work was $4k. A full YEAR after after giving Brown the engine, I drove to Tulsa from south Texas to physically pick up the motor, because he took so long to do the work and never was honest with me as to when it would be ready. I made literally DOZENS of phone calls over that year and was not told the truth about how long it would take. After a similar experience during ANOTHER full YEAR regarding the paperwork for the overhaul, I have received from Brown instead of the paperwork an ADDITIONAL bill of $4200 - more than the original estimate and payment! Based on my experience, I do not recommend Brown Aviation: Larry Brown apparently no longer cares about his word, about dealing honesty with his customers, or his business.
They had me wire $3,000.00 to them and never sent me my airplane part . Have called the owner (David Guzman) and the salesperson (Roy Ledesma) Roy always says David is dealing with it and David always gets sent to voicemail and won't call back . Don't use them they must be BROKE or CROOKS.
I sent them my parts for overhaul. They did an excellent job, and were helpful when I called to ask questions. They're not inexpensive by any means, but their work is very good.
I worked for almost a year, was cussed out multiple times for work related and person reasons by the worst supervisor i ever had, but would management or the owner ever do anything? No, the owner is the worst, a liar, cheater, and on multiple occasions even scammed customs and ordered good mechanics to do shoty work so the could make more more. I finally left after a year when a customer wasnt happy with his plane being ready 30 minutes before departure at 7am, he wanted an hour but didnt specify, the owner then gave this customer a 500 dollar refund on a month of hanger rent and tried to take it out of my paycheck when he already wasnt even paying me a living wage, if karma is real, the owner has a lot coming. The dollar is always before the customer, i no longer find it odd that when i hired on, none of these experienced mechanics had been there over a year, people beg to leave.
