Had a belt tensioner go out on the dryer friday afternoon. Headed down to Tukwila at 3:30 from Redmond in hopes of being able to get there before they close at 5:00. Traffic was horrible (and I was in the carpool lane). I called them around 4:45, hoping that I could give them my credit card over the phone and just have them leave the part outside their front or back door for me.

They refused.

They claimed that they have been having a lot of thefts lately, which I can understand, but I told them I was willing to take that risk. I figured I would be there before 5:30, what are the odds of my part being stolen ? They still refused.

I turned around, went home, and ordered the part off Amazon. Free Shipping, plus it was HALF their price!

They have the right to refuse business. But honestly, I don't want to hear any sob stories when they finally go out of business because of "the internet". If you are in a brick and mortar store, the ONLY way to beat the internet and survive is to offer something that the internet can't provide. SERVICE.

If I were manager of that store, I would have said, "No Problem, I will wait around an extra 1/2 hour and sell you the part". Had they done so, they would have had a customer for life.

Because of their poor service, I will NEVER purchase anything from them ever again. And, I will tell everyone I know about their poor attitude and lack of service.

Businesses like this deserve to die.
