About Search Results

YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

Kino School
tucsonteen rated

I am a former kino student who left the school at the winter break of the 2012-2013 school year. When I first came to kino several years ago it seemed like a safe haven, I had a lot of trouble at previous school and just needed a safe place, which at the time kino was. About a year after I started there seemed to be some changes going on with the school. The administrator for the school, Mary Jane, plays favorites, usually families who have more than one kid enrolled at full tuition and volunteer or give money to the school. I was one of the few students who fell perfectly into those categories and was favored. A good example of the favoritism is when a mother of three girls, all paid full tuition, went to the administrator and told her that if one of the boys who had been bullying her daughter was not expelled she would withdraw all of her girls. This boy had had many issues reported against him and this particular case of bullying had gone on alarmingly long, yet the first time anyone did anything about it was when the mom said she would withdraw her girls, the boy was expelled the same day.And that brings me to the topic of rule enforcement at kino. The rule are stated in the hand book, however they are enforced on a 'I feel like it ' basis. Some of the serious infractions are overlooked and sometimes rules are made up on the spot and prosecuted without waring. There is a very good example of both these failings. One day in homeroom a girl, we shall call her girl A, made a factual comment about anchor babies. Another girl, we shall call her girl B, took this as a racial slur, got up, and punched girl A in the jaw. The damage done to girl A was bad enough she had to be taken to the hospital, when she arrived it became evident that her jaw had been dislocated. The way the school handled this was absolutely repulsive, they took no action against girl B and had girl A suspended for a week for saying something raciest. Girl A's mother took this to the police and girl B was charged and found guilty of assault. The academics at kino have gotten very lax. They do not currently have anyone qualified to teach math or science at any level, in fact the best teacher they have only works part time teaching one class and I am unsure whether she will be returning for the 2013-2014 school year. Most of the teachers at kino are good people however one teacher is definitely not. Ryan is not a person you can take problems to, I was in his homeroom the year I left and when I went to him because I had some serious social problems he basically told me to get over it and was rather rude to my mother who was there because I was nervous about telling someone the difficulties I have everyday. When me and my sister left the school he wrote terrible things on our transcripts, on my sisters math transcript he wrote that she was obviously not a math person and did not take well to the subject, when in fact the opposite is true. My sister is a year ahead in math in her new school and is taking the AP course. In fact all of this can be taken back to his teaching, he was teaching us geometry however he kept us at a very basic level and explained things in a roundabout way. None of the students did well in this class and even id they had they would not be able to pass a rudimentary geometry class.Recently the kino crowd has gotten rough. There have been issues with the students putting graffiti and the walls and furniture, kids would toss the swings over the bars so no one could use them, swear words would fly even in the presence of little kids and teachers. Also many new students had some issues with sexual matters, girls would sit in guys laps, and many other issues occurred some of which were of a nature that involved the police.Do not send your child to kino. If I had one wish it would be that kino was the way it used to be and that I could be there now, but the kino I once loved no longer exists.

Presidio Schools

I had a very negative experience at the school. As you can see below, "TomD" wrote a review claiming to be a parent with excellent things to say about Presidio. He must not have realized name would appear...TomD is the director of the school. Some people might say he is irresponsible with children's education, and more interested in siphoning money out of the school.

They used to call me 3-5 times a day because they couldn't get my son,5 yrs old k 1st yr in school, to listen, stay seated, be quiet or he was fighting with another girl in his class(who it was later revealed that she and her two older siblings were bullying my son and 15 others at this school, so he was essentially defending himself and smaller friends). This same girl later confessed to stealing my son's backpack and lunchbox because he wouldn't play with her when she wanted him and others to. Principal also informed me that my son was also on the "agressors list" along with the girl and 2 of her 4 siblings and he was in the top ten w her and family. EVERYDAY IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE! !!!I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS SCHOOL!
