I purchased some muriatic acid and the staff brought it from the back room and carried it directly to my car and placed it in my trunk. when I got home I found the box of muriatic acid on its side and it had leaked onto my trunk mat. The acid ate away at the mat and ruined it. when I took it out of the trunk I noticed the box had a warning that it could cause damage and should be kept upright. if the sales clerk had told me I would have put the box in a heavy duty garbage bag and in another box (both of which I had in my trunk at the time). Two days later (my next day off) I returned the box and showed the staff my damaged trunk mat. The staff took photos of the mat and the box and told me he would contact the general manager Daniella Ramirez about the situation and have her call me. I left the muriatic acid box at the store. I called the store the next day to follow up and spoke with the store manager Laland Conner, who told me it was "way over my pay grade" and that someone would call me.A week later I called again and was told that staff would call Daniella again and have her call me. A few days later I went to the store and got a refund on the muriatic acid and asked about being compensated for the damage. Once again, I was told someone would call me. Nearly a month passed with no call from Leslie's manager to resolve my concern so I returned to the store. When I spoke with Laland Conner again he told me I "was just trying to get someone to pay for your mistake;" that "Daniella was probably just ignoring you;" and that "nobody's gonna call you about this so forget it." they never called me or wrote to me to discuss my complaint. I no longer shop there and now go out of my way to shop at a store that values my business.
Happen to stumble on this, and have been using Biogurd chems for 12 years and find them to be superior. Called the factory a few times for tech info…
The people at Pioneer Pools are some of the hardest working people in the pool business! They are a real pleasure with which to work. If you're local to Tucson and need pool work, restoration or installation, Pioneer Pools is thorough and accommodating.
The water tests are inacurate meaning you are paying for products you don't need and your pool water still will not be accurate. I have compared them to a different Leslie's and Ace Hardware.
Leslies quoted me a price of $1,200 for a replacement pump motor after they completely took my old motor apart and had it in pieces on the work bench. I had them reassemble it and I went to E-Konomy on 22nd - they got me into a new motor, for $200 which works perfectly and I got some straight, helpful advice to boot. They now have a lifetime customer... as simple as that. When I needed help from Leslies, they just wanted to up-sell me and let me walk with no help at all. I am done with them.
I purchased the variable speed pump from this company in May 2013, with a one year warranty. In April 2014 the pump began to fail. I contacted the company via telephone several times. On 2 occasions they promised to come out, gave time and date, and never showed and no call to notify about no show or to make other arrangements. Follow up phone calls went unanswered. I would definitely never recommend this company based on their very poor customer service. How does a company like this, with so many negative reviews, stay in business???
BEWARE My neighbor used their service, they blocked my car in my driveway with their company van. I snapped a photo and went to the website on the van. I emailed the photo and alerted them their company truck was blocking my car, also included my address so they could locate the driver. I received a reply first saying, get real LOL. I replied back is this your customer service? I need to leave a review about your lack of customer service. Then american pool supply emailed back that they would post 1000's of fake ads on craigslist and send people to my home for free stuff. My email was sent through their website to the email listed and that reply came from American pool supply. BEWARE of a company that threatens to do such a thing, in writing. I found the email to be very threatening and shows exactly what kind of company this is. Very unprofessional, horrible customer service. I thought they would be interested in knowing they were blocking a residential driveway. I assumed an apology and they would make sure the driver knew not to do it. Instead I get a threat of sending 100's of strangers to my home for free stuff. That is just plain evil. Again BEWARE of using a business that threatens people in emails and isn't even worried about consequences. In my opinion this is a dangerous business to do business with. I left my number on the voicemail hours ago to hear back. I guess the threat to me was all they cared about making sure I got.
Worst pool service I ever experienced! His initial quote and conversation went out the window after about a couple of weeks. We signed on for him to do our cleaning and chemicals at $85/week plus additional for chemicals. He never gave us an invoice for chemicals after the first month but was putting two chlorine tablets in a flotation device in our pool weekly. ONCE, a new guy put liquid chlorine in to try to shock it after testing it. He went through employees regularly, we constantly had new pool cleaners who were always quick to tell us their new status and lack of pool cleaning experience. It got to a point where they were just coming, skimming leaves on the top, throwing two tablets in the flotation device, and kicking my Kreepy Krawler on and leaving. I mentioned for weeks straight that our Kreeper was only working for a couple of hours after they left and then wouldn't work the rest of the week, an obvious sign of an issue. I mentioned that our pump was leaking, again another sign of an issue. They just said they'd "tell the boss" in which I never received a response. Never received invoices to pay them, made phone calls that were never returned, he charged me $75 to clean our filter ONE MONTH after it was replaced, then again in two more months? I told him I thought that was included, in which he replied no so I told him I would just do that myself. It became very evident that my pool was being severly neglected so I gave my 30 day notice. That week my pool started turning green. He had an employee knock on my door and offer to clean my filter for free if I'd consider keeping them for pool service. I told him No, I just wasn't satisfied anymore and that my pool was green and I needed it fixed and cleaned properly in which he replied that he would tell his boss. I expected the boss to come, give me an estimate and fix it. NOPE! I called the boss, went back to the pool area, did the usual; two chlorine tablets, skim of the top, didn't even attempt to get my Kreepy working, and left! I called for new services to come give me estimates and every single one was appauled at what the levels were at and the condition of the pool. They were mortified, as was I, that I was paying somebody monthly to maintain my pool on a weekly service basis and that they allowed it to get that bad and ignore some obvious signs of issues. My filter needed to be replaced, an o-ring needed to be replaced, there was a crack in the pump, and it took a couple of weeks of my new pool guy coming by a couple times a week and adding chemicals to finally get my pool back to normal. Whatever you do, do not trust this company as a pool service, there's no communication, a lack of qualified workers, and you'll pay more in the end for their negligence.
It is convenient but I dread going there. I have been going to this store for pool supplies for 7 years. There is a big weight lifter type guy working there that is just a bully. He never says hello, or is friendly at all. He try's to over sell & is more likely to tell you what you are doing wrong than in trying to actually help. His attitude carries over to the other employees. You just feel unwelcome. Even though it is much less convenient, I go to Patio Pools, or a different Leslie's if possible.
"Bad Experience" with this company -- "Tucson Public Beware". The pool tech, Michael, ruined our pool and we paid heavily for the damages. We resisted for many months on posting our experience but, after reading the many reviews it seems to be a re-occurrence. My husband found the company is NOT properly licensed as they claim. They do not have insurance and we found no evidence that they have a business license either. They ruined our pool and would not return to fix the damage after being paid a lot of money. The owner is very argumentative and full of threats, as the other review states. Please, beware. We've lost our patience and our hard earned money with this company...
This is an incompetent and dishonest business and should be avoided. I had a similar experience to others. Ordered a part, was told the order was "lost" and would be delivered overnight. That was several months ago and still no refund in spite of repeated phone calls and emails. American Pool Pump & Products is nothing but a scam company in my opinion and is likely to cheat you and steal your money. They have a BBB rating of 'F' and it's well deserved.
