Did micro-surgery three years ago to remove nasal polups straighten nose to allow sinuses to drain. Fantastic results and have not had a cold since surgery. I kid him and call him the "miracle doctor"
Dr. Calson refuses to see active duty military personnel. First his office said I needed to get a referral from Tricare and it could take 7-10 days. So, I called Tricare and they specifically told me based on my plan that a referral for a sore throat is not required. For some types of surgeries, yes, a referral is required, but definitely not for a sore throat. So, when I called back with the Tricare phone number and my Tricare member ID, Dr. Carlson's office said they had an "internal policy," which required me to have a referral from a primary care doctor. Since I don't have a primary care doctor, they refused to see me. I asked why they had the policy and they said they didn't know. A policy which unfairly denies medical care to military members and they don't even know why???! This makes receiving medical care that much more difficult. Bad policy, Dr. Carlson, recommend you reevaluate and start seeing military personnel.
Dr. Carlson and his staff treat my severe vertigo. When a room spinning (vertigo) episode episode occurs they do their best to get me seen quickly for treatment. Although the treatment is not pleasant, they do everything they can to show kindness and patience throughout the procedure. Most importantly, the treatment they provide reduces my room spinning sensation. They are truly experts in vertigo.
Horrible experience! Appointment time was 3:00pm and they did not call us back until 4:08pm and after taking us back there was never an apology for being so incredibly behind. I will never go back to Tucson ears, nose and throat. To make things worse, I called Tucson ears, nose & throat earlier that morning to tell them that I had just received a call from my child's primary care doctor informing me that my child's strep culture came back positive for having strep throat and since she had not been on antibiotics yet i ask if they would like me to reschedule. They said no they would still see her. We arrived 10 minutes early and I had to wait with a sick child who just wanted to be at home. They need to learn how to schedule there time appropriately just because they have time to waist does not mean that others do!
Would love to write a positive review, I called with an emergency on January 2nd (severe vertigo, headache and nausea), they were kind enough to "fit me in" on February 18th. Still looking for an organization takes emergency needs seriously. Urgent Care and ER will not deal with these issues - had already tried that and was sent to ENT.
I was kept waiting for over an hour and a half with a severe sinus infection. I paid my $60 co-pay and was blessed with Dr. Dean's presence for an entire 15 minutes (cumulatively). Even though Tucson ENT was a part of my insurance network, I received a bill for $120 a month later because the doctor had stuck a scope up my nose. I paid it. It is now 2 YEARS LATER and I just got another bill for $90 because Humana (my insurance company) had audited their charges. This should be their problem, not mine. I did everything that was asked of me, paid my copay and then some. When will this end?? A simple office visit has cost me over $270, plus an immeasurable amount of time and frustration dealing with Tucson ENT's terrible customer service. Save yourself the trouble and stay away from this place.
