I have lived in Tucson for 25 years and have eaten at Mexican restaurants all over town. My wife and I love Mexican food and although we are not exactly experts, our consensus is that this is the best overall Mexican restaurant value in town. Yes, there are places with fancier decor and atmosphere, but for the price you can't beat Ole. Particularlly if you use their coupons. We have tried any number of their menu selections and specials and have never been disappointed. The service is friendly, attentive and prompt and they will replentish your chips and salsa until you say No Mas. And how about that happy hour. 3-7 daily with the best margaritas in town. If you like margaritas you'll love the grande margarita. If you live in the northwest and you love Mexican food, this is the place for you.

We just love going there for small get togethers with friends and family. We love so many of their food items. Just to name a couple of items, Pan fried tacos and their ""award winning carne seca"". Which is marinated dried beef. Among so much more,They make the best cocktails around tucson. You get your bucks worth because they free pour all their drinks and they have great homemade margaritas! They also have huge mouth watering hamburgers and the best honey lime wings in town. The staff is always freindly and I recommend happy hour at Ole'. The food is yummy and the prices are very reasonable.

Set the stage: dining room was half empty at dinner hour, in other words, they had staff but were not overloaded.
Server brought drinks and said he'd be back in a minute to take our order. He came back 11 minutes later.
Kitchen was slow, our fajitas arrived 32 minutes later. I can personally grill up fajitas in about 10 minutes.
I complained to the server about his delays and the kitchen's delays. He passed the responsibility to the manager.
I explained to the manager that we were unhappy about the delays, we had food on the table and still had incomplete silverware.
The manager became argumentative, and told us we were ""lucky"" to have our food in 45 minutes. I pointed out other patrons who arrived after us and were halfway through their dinners, and re-iterated that our server left us for much longer than he promised.
The manager said he would go check into what happened, but never came back.
At that point, I noticed the fajitas were NOT prepared with the ingredients mentioned on the menu, but no one ever came back to check on us. On top of that, the food was poorly prepared. The chicken fajita was way overdone. One of my companions had a chicken potato dish that seemed to have a few bits of potatoes mashed into it, and my other companion had a steak fajita with tough little bits of meat.
The server finally arrived with the check. He rudely asked if we wanted carryout boxes, never inquired if we wanted dessert, and literally slammed the check down on the table.
If you are looking for good service at a restaurant with some character and decent food for good prices (I know it is a lot to ask for), go to Taco Bron's in midtown Tucson.
By the way, if you are wondering about the server's tip ......
