The problem I have with this company isn't with their staff. Everyone there is very friendly. It just seems that the staff isn't empowered to do what they need to do. For instance I pre-paid for some work to be done in their office on Broadway. I wanted to make sure I had the money to get done what needed to be done. I later got sick and was unable to work or have the treatment done. I requested that they return the pre-payment I made and told them I would reschedule and pay when I could afford to have the treatment. I needed the money for school clothes for my son because I was unable to work. Mind you, I had already paid for the services they had performed before. This was a pre-payment for future work I needed to have returned to me. They said we would have to go through a 4-6 week audit of my account. I called them in late June 2017 to start this process. By August 1st of 2017 I got antsy so I went in to their office and inquired about the progress of my refund request. The lady, Lisa, nicely told me she didn't have a status on it and would have to resubmit it. She said because she couldn't tell if it had been submitted before she was guessing I wouldn't see my money until the first week of September. Now it's September 6th, I know, but I called to check on the status of my return request and they said they could see it was submitted August 1st but couldn't give me any more information. There was no supervisor or manager in the office I could speak with. I called their corporate office and left a message and now am discussing my experience with everyone I meet to warn them to be careful about paying up front for work you need done here. Nice people but shady business practices.
BEWARE of phony/ extra charges. According to my insurance company my co-pay should have been $65 but the office charged me $82.50. I spoke with my insurance company and verified my co-pay, then contacted the office to find out why I was charged differently. I was told by the person who answered the phone that she would look into it and call me back. A week later, still no calls. I had to call my insurance company again to see if they could get more information. I find out that they charged me for something different so they could charged me more money. Instead of charging me for an exam (which it was) they charged me for a consultation which is not covered by my insurance. Additionally the estimate that I was provided was also different from the my insurance co pays. This time, the procedure numbers matched the procedures in my benefit guide but the prices were almost tripled what my insurance said I should be charged.
Besides overcharging me, I had to wait for almost an hour before I even got into the exam room, then had to wait for another 20 minutes to see the doctor. Then it was another 20 minutes to get an estimate. By the time it was all over I missed over 2 hours of work for a 5 minute exam.
I wouldn't recommend Gentle Dental to anyone ever.

I was a new patient who recently acquired dental insurance.My first experience was ok but I felt like a piece of meat or a fat wallet to be emptied. The work proposed was to have been 400 dollars out of pocket and close to 2700 dollars including insurance. The price I was forced to pay was 737 plus prescriptions and no telling how much extra they will charge my insurance. I felt conned and cheated and will never go back there for any reason. The quote is not even close to the price actually charged and the experience was the worst of my life. I would give them no stars if I could
