Experienced horrendous service from B&B transport. They showed up 4 hours later than scheduled for transport. When the driver got there he did not have a medical stretcher for transport and had to go back to get one, only to return almost an hour later. He had no idea how to move patient from the hospital bed to stretcher. He joked about being late due to all his co-workers calling in sick because they were watching the pay per view fight on TV. He had his wife in the van with him, drove like a maniac and got lost on the way. Needless to say, it was a nightmare. The hospital blamed the rehab center and the rehab center blamed the transport company. All were at fault and no one took responsibility.
Can we remove that star I just put? I wouldn't have put it but its the only way to get to the review area. This place does not value their employees at any level. As far as that goes they do not care about their passengers either. Management is fine with making their Vets wait for as long as they possibly can within their contractual limits, which is sad. Management, if you can call them that, treat the employees that are out there trying to do their jobs are mistreated, overworked, harassed, belittled, yelled at, threatened, not to mention treated inappropriately. "Management" will have the drivers on the road for way too many hours at a time, work them late, then start them extremely early. If a driver tries to tell dispatch (management) they are too tired and don't feel safe, the driver worries about the repercussions of trying to be safe, such as being removed from the schedule for several days, being written up, etc.... I believe that the drivers should not have to feel that they have to choose between their job being secure and the safety of themselves, their veterans, and others on the road. If the VA knew half of the things that were going on there, they would find another company quickly. Keep those Veterans and the drivers of this company in your thoughts, they need it considering the management they are dealing with.
I worked there for a very short time. Thank God. The drivers do not have a DOT medical card's (Department of Transportation Medical exams) to see if they are healthy enough to transport and drive our Vets. DOT card's are required for as Taxi driver's- Truck driver's - Shuttle driver's etc. I only worked there during my training period then decided that this company was so screwed up that I quit. During my training with other driver's I found that some should not be ever on the road. For example: one driver which wore very thick glasses has a depth perception problem along with road rage. Another thought he was the best in the world (Head Up Rear), bossy, rude and just a pri_k. Nobody liked him. Other could not ever get out of the vehicle quickly. These are examples. When I did meet other driver's a couple of them were very obese sweating and breathing hard as they were just sitting. I was told by a couple of the drivers that people were fired for illegal drug use which was found out after an accident. NOW I wonder why they had and accident. One major issue is that the company over works the driver's. Some work up to 16 hour days then have to go in earlier the next day (double back). Most States and companies require driver's to get the legally required amount of sleep, but not them. One manager named Ricardo is in his 50's never married and does the hiring. He is one sick son of a bee. He does the office training which also includes sexual harassment training etc. There is something wrong with this guy??? He tells of color jokes, talks bad about women in a sexual manor and throws in gay jokes. Strange dude. He always makes the statement over and over "don't screw up or your gone". Threatening the employees. He is not a manager but a joke. I did talk to one of the employees and he/she may likely be filing a sexual harassment case against him shortly. This person does not want to however had enough of his remarks. As I told this person they would win a law suit as there are to many witnesses against him, people he does business with along with current and past employees. Just need a few to win. Even if now he changes his ways it is to late. I pray this person sues the sh_t out of them. There are also other so called managers/dispatchers which think there sh_t don't stink. They are so stupid not to realize they were given the position (Manager) because no one else would want to be just a dispatcher. With the title Manager/Dispatcher now they feel important and tell there friend's "I Am A Manager". This is how companies control them and keep them from quitting. The company has a VA contract. In time the VA will realize what is going one with LMC and may require that all LMC driver's need a DOT cart. If this happens then I guarantee they are scre_ed. Call the VA and complain about them if you have an issue. That is what I did. Just don't comment on line call the VA.
The worse transportation service I have ever used. Consistently late, poorly maintained vehicles, and full of excuses. The drivers mean well so I'm confused as to why the service is so bad. Once again the VA chose to save money or quality of service. On several ocassion I've asked sick(coughing, runny nose) drivers to wear a mask because my immune system is compromised and responded to as if I asked them to donate an organ. If my disability didn't prevent me from driving or walking the distance to the hospital I wouldn't use the service.
My wife complete wreck after medical transport from UofA Medical Center and the B&B owner does not care. If I could give negative stars, I would. Beforehand, I told the driver and assistant that my wife was in pain and anxious about the trip – the assistant talked to her kids/boyfriend and ignored my wife, while the driver did not slow down when my wife said she was in pain (bumpy ride; asked to slow to 70 on I-10, but would not). I think the driver was speeding as he beat me to the destination medical facility and he said he had been going since 6AM – he started transporting my wife around 1630; not safe. The next day I called the dispatcher and explained what happened, and then asked the dispatcher to request the owner call me. She has not to date and it has been three days.
