Writing from Afghanistan... not because I have a lot of extra time - but because if this negative review prevents one potential customer from experiencing the nightmarish-scenario that I experienced with this company, it will be worth it. Military duties brought me to Tucson in 2009. Purchased brand new truck and brought to Jamis Autosports to have aftermarket sunroof installed. As soon as I picked up truck, started experiencing problems. Wind noise, water leaks, etc. Brought back to Jamis 2 times to have "fixed" before military duties brought me away from Tucson. Still continued to have issues. Called Jamis to see what my options were. I was informed that Jamis changed owners and that they only dealt with upholstery and that my sunroof couldn't be covered under the "lifetime guarantee" they offered at time of installation. Finally, couldn't stand problems anymore and brought to authorized dealership in Elgin, IL. Discovered that hole had been cut too large for the size sunroof that they installed - which was incorrect size for the truck. Only option was to install larger sunroof and use existing hole. Although under impression they only dealt with upholstery, was pretty upset and wanted to relay the information on how bad they damaged my truck with the initial installation - so I looked up the number and called them. Trisha answers phone as Jamis Autosports. I explain situation, and inform her that the sunroof they installed was under lifetime warranty and that they had cut too large of a hole in my truck which was what had caused all the issues. Said that they couldn't do anything about it and that I was out of luck. Posted negative review on website. Was contacted by Tim, owner, who informed me that he remembered me and my situation, and provided that I removed negative reviews, he would send me a check in the mail to cover the cost of new sunroof. Removed negative reviews. For next month waited for check with numerous calls to Trisha and Tim. Check never arrived. Verified check was sent. Told it was, through text messages with owner as well as over phone. After about a month I call Trisha and she says she received two voided checks in the mail due to bad address, which I confirmed with Tim multiple times. Finally, tell them that I will have military friend come by and pick up check to send to me via mail. That is about the time Tim admits to never sending the check, the whole thing being a lie, and that he didn't have sufficient funds to cover the damage he did to my brand new truck. HORRIBLE business ethics. Blatant liars. Will file complaint with BBB although this company has already declared bankruptcy. Avoid this shady company at all costs.
