The Girl Spot

Whatever your preconceptions or judgements are about pole dancing may be go ahead and throw them out the window. It is a wonderful and beautiful art practiced by the most wonderful and beautiful people you will ever meet. I started taking lessons at The Girl Spot because I had seen Pole Fitness on tv, I loved to dance, it looked like fun, and I got a Groupon deal. After my first class I knew it was something I wanted to pursue. Now, I wasn't the most graceful, the youngest, or by any means the skinniest woman in the class but I never felt uncomfortable, self conscious or out of place. When you join the Girl Spot you join a new family. Judy and the rest of the GS Ladies are an amazing group of people to say the least. Besides having fun, their focus is on the correct form and conditioning of the sport so that you do not suffer any injuries and you continue to grow stronger and advance in skill. The studio is clean, in a great location, and a sanctuary, if you will. In addition to the Pole classes, there are workshops that you can attend, many times, featuring guest instructors who are celebrities in the Pole community. I could continue to write another 10 pages gushing of praise for the GS but all you really need to know is this; Join the studio. It is totally worth it because you'll get a great work out, build confidence, and make friends for life. Class will be the highlight of your week. I guarantee it!

* Side note -you may notice that I now live in Phoenix. The GS is the only thing I miss about CT. I never realized, until I moved far away, what an impact Judy and the GS made on my life or how much I would miss it.
