Bag of Bones Barkery
364 Route 33, Trenton, NJ 08619
Love, Love, Love this store, and my dog does too! The treats are delicious the quality is superb and the owners are knowledgeable on all products they sell. The biggest selection of all natural food around!! And now with offering delivery it is a convenient option for those lazy days when the dog needs food and you don't want to get up. I can only think of one thing i would change about the barkery and that is, sometimes when walking in I feel as if I am at a car dealership before stepping foot in the door you are bombarded with "can I help you find something" most times in my opinion let me walk and look I'd probably end up spending more money that way!
You walk into this place and you would think you were in a real "people" bakery! The smell is incredible. My dog really goes wild for their treats there and it's the only place I shop for his food and snacks. I know my dog is getting good, healthy food at Bag of Bones. The only problem I had is returning an unopened can of dog food that I knew my dog wouldn't eat for a flavor he liked and I was told there would be a 20% restocking fee. Come on now, this is a small store not some big corporate place. Even Wal-Mart doesn't charge a restocking fee. I felt like saying "I will go put it back on the shelf right now"...kind of petty, I thought. It won't stop me from shopping there but I sure won't buy anything my dog might not like.
Dear Robin1014, Thank you for your kind words on the dogalicious aromas in our barkery! We still find them tempting ourselves! We are sorry that you are not a fan of our return policies. However, I hope that I can help you understand why they are in place. We try to clearly place these policies at the register so you are aware of them at the time of your purchase. When items are returned at our store without a receipt, 20% is always deducted from that item and we normally issue a merchandise credit in return. This is not a "restocking" fee. This fee is charged because each month (and in many publications) we offer 20% off coupons and other sale days. When you return an item without a receipt, we HAVE to assume you purchased that item at a discounted price. Doing so allows us to prevent excess monies being returned to customers and to keep our prices reasonable for everyone. Bringing your receipt in for a return helps to avoid any confusion in this respect. The policy isn't meant to be a "pain," merely to curtail any abuse of product returns. Having said that, ALL food products in our store are always returnable/exchangable if your dog does not like them. Perhaps the clerk misunderstood what your end needs were and provided you with incorrect information. If your dog did not like that sealed can of food and you wanted to exchange it for another of equal value, that is PERFECTLY acceptable. All of our manufacturers are willing to allow us to do this, and we always will. I hope I provided some clarity for you in regards to our return policy. The fee is not a "restocking" fee for returning an item to a shelf--that would just be silly. The 20% fee on a return (not an exchange) is essentially the "lowest advertised price" policy that you find at a great deal of larger retailers -- Kohl's, Walmart and Target included --when you don't have a receipt for the item. Again, we appreciate your kind words, and we're happy to have you as a customer and a part of our Barkery family! In fact, if you identify yoourself and remind me the next time you're in the store, I'll make sure you get a free can of your dog's preferred food for the misunderstanding :o)
Bag of Bones is awesome to go to. I love going there, whether my beagle, Itsy, is with me or not. They have tons of treats which are homemade right at their store. Itsy really loves the medium-sized barkery bones. Whenever I go to give her one at home, I think she knows it's a special kind of treat because she goes absolutely crazy for them when I take them out of the bag. I also love the selection of dog food that the barkery carries; so many brands which are top-notch quality.
The staff is also incredibly friendly too. Gregg and Melissa have always been willing to answer any questions that I've had. Whether it's about treats or food or anything else in the store and whether it's 1 question or many, it doesn't matter. They're always willing to help.
Itsy loves going with me occasionally. She loves going and sniffing around and getting pats from the staff working. And they don't mind when I give Itsy a cookie before we checkout because she's so excited!
I would highly reccomend Bag of Bones if you're looking for a barkery with products which are of top-notch quality and also a barkery with a staff that is friendly towards both humans and dogs!
My furkids and I absolutely love Bag of Bones! Gregg, Melissa, Chloe and Chance make us feel like a member of their family. They are very friendly and always willing to help you out with anything you need. Bag of Bones has a wide selection of products you might need for your kids. Their bones and birthday cakes made on site can't be beat! I give Bag of Bones five stars and the kids give it four paws up.
Unique store like none other! Customer service is A+ from the time you are greeted Chloe's welcoming barks or Chance's snuggles, Greg & Melissa's smiles and willingness to help, you know you've made friend's for life. If you can't find it at Bag of Bones....you don't need it....and just in case you do, special orders are taken. Every wonderful food you can imagine is sold, at great prices, incredible selection of toys, beds, bandanas, you name it. Grab your furry friend and head over to Bag of Bones.....you won't leave empty pawed!!
I was introduced to Bag of Bones from a friend who drives all the way from Cranbury for their unique products and friendly service. They are worth it. Our pets love their special treats and they also have a really neat selection of pet gifts from jewelry to beautiful beds etc. that I have not been able to find at the major pet chains. When I needed a cat harness, they had all the resources to order one as soon as needed. They were able to advise me about the safest and most comfortable harnesses. They don't sell just anything. They have animal comfort and best interest in mind always! -love this store!

It is great to be able to go to a place and purchase something for my dog and not have to worry about what is in it that isn't good for him. With all of the goings on earlier this year with pet food and treats being recalled, it makes it nice to go to the "Barkery" and not have to worry. There is an excellent assortment of items available in the store. Also, the owners are very nice and truly appreciate your business. It is more of a hometown feeling and not a big chain where you may not always be treated nicely.
That's how much we love the folks at Bag of Bones Barkery and their products!! My two dogs are big fans of all of their cookies and biscuits and I feel good about feeding them these because they are homemade and of high quality. The owners are very knowledgeable about which ingredients and formulas would be best for your dog (one of my dogs has a sensitive stomach) and they make you feel incredibly welcome in their store. Four paws up for this retailer!!!
I used to be a dog owner, but now have only cats. I had been ordering my cat food over the internet, but Gregg can get the brands I have been buying and for less money. The store is great, I did get to meet both Gregg and Chloe. Will order my pet food from them from now on. Thanks a million. Great store.
My Jamie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, absolutely loves the treats from Bag of Bones Barkery. I first started buying treats for Jamie from their online store and continue doing so today. Their online store is great and they make it quite easy to shop and buy. The treats arrive safe, well packaged with no damage or breakage. The Bag of Bones Barkery in Hamilton is a wonderful store. There's plenty of homemade treats, toys, packaged food for your pet. While I don't visit too often, when I do go to the store, it's great ... clean, bright, well organized and a treat for the eyes. The staff is helpful and friendly and go out of their way to make your visit a pleasant experience. The prices are quite reasonable especially for the high quality of all their products. Jamie's suggestion -- try Bag of Bones Barkery -- you won't be disappointed.
Bag of Bones is the Best doggie bakery you will find in the Hamilton area. Not only are the owners the nicest people, they really take pride in their store. A beautiful store, not over crowded, but warm and easy to look around.
Chloe is there to give a "golden" welcome too!
The best part is my Dogs- all six- :LOVE their cookies/cakes. I got the Peanut butter birthday cake for my pups and it smelled so good I wanted a slice. Far better quality than other local doggei bakeries, these cakes are a true treat.
The cookies are also so beautiful and well decorated, it is easy to see a lot of love was put into them.
If you are looking for a place to get your pup the best Bag of Bones is it! My pups give it paws up!
this is a fabulous store! the owners are very nice and welcoming, and even remembered me from a craft fair! it is so refreshing to walk into a store and actually be greeted.
the owner was very knowledgeable about the different types of food and was able to help me pick out a new food for my dogs. the bakery looks great and my dogs really enjoyed all of their yummy treats.
this is a great store and any pet lover in the area should check it out!
I love going into Bag of Bones Barkery with my Boston Terrier! He loves interacting with other dogs and he never wants to leave! The treats are so cute and smell good enough to eat myself! Gregg and Melissa are some of the nicest business owners you'll ever meet! They go above and beyond for their customers, and they know how to keep you coming back! A definite A+.
