I gotta say though that for as much as I love eating comfort food at my own job, I need a break every now and then, you know, to change it up. Well Sparky's is exactly the change I need! Whereas I eat at work four or five times a week, I still find my way to Sparky's weekly, mostly at their busiest times on the weekends, like Sunday or Saturday mornings. Now, coming at these times you would really think that the place would be so absolutely packed and therefore your food would take forever to cook. That is simply not the case. The awesome waitresses always bring out our food really quickly. Even in a full house, I've never waited any more than ten minutes for food. Never. This place is seriously one of the cutest diners in town, as they entertain a sweet 60's-era atmosphere complete with records on the walls and a jukebox in the corner. I will always recommend Sparky's!
Yummy food. It's always fresh and flavorful, they have wraps and sandwiches that are 'off the beaten path' along with old favorites! I love the sassy wrap and when I want to really treat myself I get a coconut, pineapple and banana smoothie! To die for! (It's so worth it, I brave the drive into downtown at lunch hour sometimes just to get take, when I'm having a bad day haha)
Great idea to open a place that has coffee in the morning and afternoon along with food. Then transfers into a place to get some great beer from Micro breweries. Gets people downtown and is open all day. Good use of the building. Did I mention great coffees, beers, and atmosphere? Haven't had any food yet so I can't comment on that.
Since this place was redone it is amazing. Great sandwiches, smoothies, and soups. Personal favorites are #6 and #8 sandwiches. If you are downtown I would definitely suggest stopping by. Good location and friendly staff. One of my favorite lunch spots
This is one of the cleanest restaurants in town! It always looks so neet and tidy. And I love how their staff waits on you hand and foot. They have a wide selection of salads and soups at a fair price...my only problem is I eat there too much! :)
This place rocks.Michael was our server and he was great.I asked for extra cream for my excellent coffee and her brought a large cariff of creamer.I had the best hamburger and sweet potatoe fries,ever...Great place to eat...Tina from Alpena...
I was skeptical. I saw vegan and vegitarian and questioned if this place was for me. I had soup and a sandwich, and both were excellent. I work a block away and I have eaten here years ago and it is much improved. I will eat here again.
I could live on Ambrosia's gelato. My personal favorite is the chocolate hazelnut, but not one of their flavors are bad. Great environment. Employee working tonight was very friendly and inviting. I will be going back... Soon! :)
One of my favorite restaurants in the area. The Chicken Pot Pie is terrific and I have never had a disappointing meal here. They have a nice website which shows their different menu options including the cookbook series menus.
This business has done a great job over the years and has evolved from Glen Arbor to many locations. The quality and selection of items is World Class. Always a fun place to visit for great Michigan products.
