Owner argued with us, unsatisfied with bland good. Didn't want to refund us money and argued with us in front of whole deli. Ordered 2 different sandwiches and both where greasy and had no flavor.
Awesome meals each and every time we come to Traverse City. The service has always been outstanding.
Definitely a must see and eat when in TC. Pork Tacos, pizzas, cider, etc.Local food and wines, farm to table.
This business has done a great job over the years and has evolved from Glen Arbor to many locations. The quality and selection of items is World Class. Always a fun place to visit for great Michigan products.
I gotta say though that for as much as I love eating comfort food at my own job, I need a break every now and then, you know, to change it up. Well Sparky's is exactly the change I need! Whereas I eat at work four or five times a week, I still find my way to Sparky's weekly, mostly at their busiest times on the weekends, like Sunday or Saturday mornings. Now, coming at these times you would really think that the place would be so absolutely packed and therefore your food would take forever to cook. That is simply not the case. The awesome waitresses always bring out our food really quickly. Even in a full house, I've never waited any more than ten minutes for food. Never. This place is seriously one of the cutest diners in town, as they entertain a sweet 60's-era atmosphere complete with records on the walls and a jukebox in the corner. I will always recommend Sparky's!
I have lived in Traverse City all my life and it wasnt until about four years ago that I had actually heard of Randys Diner. Heck I used to drive passed it every day and still had no idea. I absolutely love american comfort food, especially when it comes down to omelettes hashbrowns and wheat toast. Now I have to say that the very first day I visisted I immediately became a regular. The service is absolutely exceptional--better than some of the "fancier" places you might go in TC. All of the waitresses are extremely nice and always helpfull. The food is exactly what you would want in a mom and pops diner: home-style cooked everything. Now I eat at Randys five or six times a week and all the waitresses know my name. Sometimes Randy himself will even sit down and eat with me. Great people, great ownership, great atmosphere and great food! I can reccomend Randys all day long.
The food quality is poor. Definitely not local sourcing, unless GFS is local.? Service was immiture AT BEST and I believe this place has been around for a while. Highly dissapointing when there are so many really great places to eat in Traverse City. I will never step foot in their doors again.
Good people. Great breakfest.
Excellent food,services,clean,menu choices,breakfast all day,drinks,tv and smiles
Thought I would try something not on Front Street, read the burgers were different and great. I found seating for one or two (other than the counter) was the first 2 tables in the middle of the walkway. First mistake was to sit at one of these. In hindsight, the first mistake was arriving here in the first place. After I seated myself I felt I sat at the table the staff dumped all the extra menus. Service was minimal and with little interest. I wasn't asked how things were. I would have told them I expected at least onion and pickle on a regular burger since the mustard and ketchup were on the table. A refill for the soda was an afterthought. I guess she was hoping to receive a tip. I did tip, but reluctantly. The coleslaw was served in a covered souffle cup. I felt I should take it to go. Another guest came in with their mother, who was using a walker. I had to move my table several inches to one side so she could pass. I did not mind this, I have been with people who need accomodations and it is nice to have people help out. A few minutes the bus person, a mature woman, banged my table twice trying to put her cart through the other side of my table. Then she just moved the table as I was eating. I found this to be irritating, but brushed it off. I continued to eat my meal and browse my magazine when the bus person decided she needed to pass through again. I guess she didn't move it enough the first time to suit her so she banged it again, twice and moved my table again. She said, Oh, sorry. I got up and said I guess I am done now. I paid my bill and left. From what I gathered, don't go to Randy's Diner two hours before they close, they have too much to do to want to serve you or be considerate. I should've gone to Sparky's or tried the Fleet downtown. If you don't expect much, this is the place to go, but the price is not in line with experience.
