T & J Progressive Pre-School and School Age program

Do not send your children here!!!!! Upon first impressions, I was cautiously optimistic about the ability of Jackie and her staff to care for my children. After all, she seemed to have a large diverse clientale, and plenty of staff to handle the rigours of running a large, in home daycare facility. The first day that I left my children with her and her staff, I arrived at 6:15 am to find her and her husband Terry caring for two small children . At this time of morning, the children were plopped in front of a big screen tv playing super mario bros. Not coloring, or playing with blocks, but staring at a television with no interaction with the adults, or even each other.Still, I left my children in her care, as I am a working mother, and had paid for her services. At approximately 2:40 pm, I receive a call from Jackie wondering where I was. My reply was one of confusion, as I had contracted, and paid for her services until 4:00 pm. She then states that she expected me there to pick up my children at 1:00 pm, and I owed her $30 more. "Okay", I replied I will pay the difference when I pick them up, but wouldn"t be there until 4:00pm. Before we finish the conversation, my call waiting beeps; upon switching lines, I am on the telephone with my older daughters school, informing me that she is still there. (school is out @2pm) They then tell me that my daughter told them that she should have been picked up by Mrs. Jackie Thomas, but no one had arrived to pick her up. I told the school that I was on the line with Jackie, and would voice my concern to her, and that she would (hopefully) be there soon. Upon switching back over to Jackie, she offers no apology, just an inference that I wasn"t clear regarding my daycare needs, although she did go to the school to get my daughter. Later that evening, (after my husband had picked up my children from daycare) I called Jackie and told her that this situation would not work out. She agreed to give me a refund of the money that I had paid for a weeks services; after all, they had only cared for my children for one day, and had screwed that up royally. The catch: she wouldn't be able to give it to me until the following friday, as she did not have the funds available. Needless to say, when friday came around, they had changed their mind about the refund, as I did not give them two weeks notice in writing. As if I would leave my children with these people for another hour, much less two additional weeks! Long story short, if you value receiving the care and services for your children that you pay for, stay far, far away from T & J Progressive Family Home Daycare.
