Update - 10/11/2008

I've tasted more items such as the vermicelli dishes (both regular and fine), the spring rolls, and fried rice. No matter what item I seem to pick, they are all pretty good to me. And at competitive prices too. Service is prompt is friendly, whether you are eating in or taking food out.

However, beware of the hidden charge of the drinks. If you want boba (aka pearls or tapioca balls) on any drink, they will charge you an extra 75 cents. And (at the time I write this) it's not even mentioned on the menu! That's why I had to take down one star. Even then, it's still a great place to eat authentic Vietnamese food.

Vietnamese food in Tracy? Any food in Tracy? Usually, it's not worth stopping at a "restaurant" in Tracy because the amount of disappointment is great enough to fill a to-go container by itself.

By Berkeley standards, this place gets three stars. But by Tracy standards, it's a gem. The grilled beef over rice was fantastic. I had never had beef rolled around onions like that. Quite clever, and good quality, lean beef. My son liked it, too. The vegetarian fresh spring rolls were also very tasty, with a perfectly-flavored authentic sauce.

The only letdown was the lemongrass chicken over rice. The chicken had an odd, artificial lemon flavor. I'm not sure if it was artificial (since lemongrass has that Pledge smell to it) but I do know I've had much better lemongrass chicken elsewhere.

This will easily become my "go to" place in Tracy.

My friend and I had lunch here the other day. I'm glad I got the small size of Pho, cause it was HUGE! My friend got the medium size, but apparently, the food gods weren't happy with her because she found a hair in it, so I have to take away 2 stars...they staff was really nice about it and fixed her something else..I would give them another shot, my friend may not..

This is my new favorite place to eat Chinese/Vietnamese food. We mostly come here for the noodle soup, but we've also had the Chinese food and cannot complain.

This is the better choice compared to the other Vietnamese place also called "Saigon" something by Bluefin Sushi. DO NOT GO THERE!!! Over priced and not as flavorful.

This place is next to an authentic burrito place that we love as well. We come here at least once a month or more to get our pho fix!! YUM!

It's packed on the weekends and on Friday night, so get

This is a great place for a bowl of pho or the vermicelli noodles. They have reasonable portions/pricing, and their flavor is pretty spot on. Originally from the Bay Area, we were pleased to see this place open, finally a decent Vietnamese restaurant!! Hope they will soon offer Vietnamese sandwiches...:-0

this is the best restaurant in tracy, the food is great, especially the fried rice, the chowfun or chow mien . the avocado smoothie , strawberry banana are good too. I recommend this restaurant because they have great food and good service. Don't confuse with the Sai gon restaurant in the PICTURE ABOVE . The SAI GON BAY that i am talking about is in front of Strings Italian Cafe, not the one next to panda express .

Good luck, and enjoy the food everyone

Overall
Saigon Restaurant on YELP

Went here again for lunch today and the place was busy! I tried out the BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Soup and it was delicious! I got a large and wow, that was a large bowl. If I stuck my face in, I probably would've drowned! And me being the meat eater I am...loved it, lots of BBQ Pork slices! $6.95 for that large bowl of goodness!

Did I mention that they were really BUSY! Again, they only had two people working and they had a hard time keeping up. As popular as this place is getting, I really hope they at least add another server. But, that's not going to stop me from going back again, and again, and again!

AWESOME Asian/Viet food in Tracy?!? Who'd ever thought! I love this place!

***PS***

Don't get this restaurant confused with Saigon Restaurant next to Rubio's and Panda Express. Saigon Bay #6 is right in front of Round Table Pizza and String's Cafe.

UPDATED SIDE NOTE: No hip-hop music this time, it was actually slow jams when we came in but eventually transitioned into traditional Vietnamese music. They must've read my first review while we were there! haha! :)

We were on our way to Round Table when we saw stumbled upon this place. It's in the spot where…

My husband first went here with his friend. He brought me back the beef rice platter. It was green onions rolled up with beef. It was sooo good. He also got me an avocado smoothie with pearl. Not as good as Coffee Lovers in San Jose but it satisfied my craving. The second time I ate in the restaurant and its a really nice restaurant. No numbers on the table! WOW! Their beef broth was pretty good....I almost felt like I was back in the Bay! I took away 1 star because there was something in my water....luckily I didn't drink it!

This Vietnamese restaurant opened just this week, and the food...is phenomenal. So is the interior…

The best Vietnam spot in the Valley that I have eaten at so far. Each time I come here they have on slow jam and new wave music. After I yelped this place we have been coming here at least once a week. The pho is always given to us in a large portion and steaming hot, not luke warm like other places. We have also tried their rice plates and they are also very good. But one time we came on a Sunday for dinner and they were very busy, they took forever to place our orders, they forgot to give us our chop sticks and our drinks. Two other times I can here they were close to closing and instead of just letting us eat our food they kinda rushed us out. Coming to our table asking us to pay, standing at the register staring at us while we ate, it was very uncomfortable. So for the service I would give it a 3 star just because I like the owner, she comes out and talks to me each time I go there. But the food definitely 4 stars.

Worst Viet Food I've ever had....

Of all the Viet restaurats I've been to, this one has to be the worst. The food wasn't good and it was also over priced for such a small portion of food. My boyfriend ordered a rice plate, the food did not look fresh at all. I ordered a bowl of noodles and it wasn't good either. I over paid, the size of their large bowls looks like more like a small bowl to me. I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone.
