Overall
I wish I could find any review...

I wish I could find any reviews before I have joined this particular club. There are not any on the Internet, except for their website, which, of course, sings a number of positive accolades. Well, let me write a first one, someplace else other than their personal website. I have to start with pluses of the club. Location is excellent. Parking is a plenty. Gym is new, sparkling clean, they have babysitting services which cost (when I joined last September, in 2011), 5 dollars every day, meaning you kids are being looked after while you are at the gym, for five bucks. I know some gyms offer this service for free though (Bally's?). They have a very nice clean shower/locker area, but now, pay attention, they started charging ten extra dollars a month for the use of their lockers. So, I guess, maybe soon there will be more fees to come. Club is spacious, equipment is new. Private room for ladies, nicely equipped, four TV screens (sometimes they forget to turn them on and you have to go and remind them, that means anyone working at the club very seldom do they come to the females only room). They also have some small smoothie/power bar eating area with overpriced food snacks. Classes are allright. You are supposed to get one free lesson with a trainer when you sign up. Make sure you do get one. I have injured my wrist trying to use some equipment and was out of this club for a month with a brace. The trainer did call me once, left some mumbling message on my voicemail. I called her back ten minutes later, talked to her voicemail, she never called me back. I did remind them about it every single time I walked into the club, asking about the lesson. Every time I was promised someone will contact me and lesson will be scheduled... Never did. Make sure you get yours if you join. And, please, use their free trial option, don't just come there and pay the fees... They only take cash or credit card, no mailing of the checks/billing... Pay attention now, a HUGE DOWNSIDE. If you do not like the club or for any other reason wanna quit... You have to give them a THREE MONTHS warning. And pay for three months. Not just one, like anywhere else... Three months. They do not advertise this fact, I found it out when I decided to quit after I injured my wrist and realized that no one cares about you there, you are on your own, basically. Trainers are hard to find if you want anyone to explain how do the weight machines work. They tend to cluster upfront, and are not very helpful. Club is good if you know what you are doing, if you are sure you will be there for a while, but for some regular schmucks? Not so much. Also, I love love love rowing machines. They have NONE of those. I did email them couple of times requesting adding some, no response ever. So, they are not that great answering your questions either. Walk in, use some basics, take a class (they are some average quality ones), walk out on your merry way. Do not expect much. But, if you are serious about your fitness, you will be better on your own, joining any running group (check running stores for those or search the Internet meet ups) or joining good old YMCA (new one just opened up in Towson, with Five Guys nearby, LOL). FIT is a nice clean club where they do not care about you at all. Pay your fees and, if you wanna quit, remember-three months notice. Good luck with your fitness (now, where are your running shoes and your good old baseball glove, exercise with friends for a better and cheaper option). Or join YMCA, good for you and your community. I would not recommend FIT! I did not like it.
