I HAD SUCH A TERRIBLE MOTHER'S DAY EXPERIENCE AT THIS PLACE, I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW RIGHT AFTER THE MEAL!
Never attend any type of special event at this place. Easters, Mother's Day, whatever. Get this. You have to make reservations to go eat at their Mother's Day Brunch. Sounds reasonable enough. I made reservations one week in advance, asking for a nice table for my mother and I. We arrive early and are the first ones in line. This hotel has two sittings. One at 11am and the other at 2pm. Mom and I opted for 2pm.
Mom and I are the first in line. All of a sudden this bunch of people show up. They start to peep into the banquet hall. Our hostess says, ""No. You need to get in line."" One of the women from the party checks her name, sees it on the list and sits down next to the banquet door. She then sneaks in! The hostess says, ""No. You have to get back. You...(waiter's name) go get her back."" Another waiter shows up...and here is the kicker....sneaks the rest of the party around the back hallway so no one notices. I then notice a bit later from a crack in the door that the entire party are helping themselves to the buffet. Keep in mind that we are still waiting in line and it is 1:50pm.
I tell the hostess, ""So when are we going to eat?"" We are then sitted and that same bunch who snuck in have dug into all the food first.This hotel is a joke. I understand tipping, but these people pushed themelves into the banquet hall and the manager did nothing. She apologizes later, but I flat out told her, ""I do not accept your apology. You saw what happened. Please leave us alone."" She then stands there and says, ""I am sorry"". I then reply, ""Your apology is not accepted. Please leave me alone."" She just stands there. ""Miss, please go away. I will pay my bill and leave. Send me my bill. I want to pay my full bill. I do not want anything. Now please go away."" The manager finally leaves. Unbelievable that this establishment is still in business.
I was not looking for a free meal. I paid my bill in full. The nerve of the management to pretend not to notice. She tells me later, ""I talked with the waiter."" Yeah right...what a joke. The rest of the staff suffers as my tip was almost nothing. I normally tip over 20%, sometimes 25%. Not this time.
My future party event at that hotel is cancelled. I will never send any guest to that hotel again.
Here is a tip. If you want a good buffet at a place that will treat you well, go to Grand World China Buffet in Torrance! My biggest mistake was not taking Mom there on Mother's Day!

We decided to go with holding an event here because the prices were much more reasonable than any other hotels on the westside/southbay area and the rooms were spacious. And the best part, FREE parking!
However, those were the only good things about this place. We got stuck with a catering manager named BEVERLY who was so moody and depending on her mood, said we could do and have different things. For example, she quoted us different prices over the phone and would not confirm over email or in writing so we never had any proof for what she said. She also didn't also write everything down when we would sit and talk and therefore would ask us repeatedly what we wanted... then would tell us she wouldn't recommend what we wanted.. and end up doing what she thought would be BETTER. It was such a horrible experience. She seemed so nice in the beginning but ended up being a nightmare to work with.
I recommend if you decide to go with this place for an event, please ask for a different catering manager

Avoid this place if you can. The rooms are tiny to start. The staff is rather clueless about the locale and transportation in the area. What's worst is the lack of WORKING vending machines and ice machines. (In fact, they post which floors have working machines, but I still had to visit 4 of the posted floors to find ones that actually work!) Last of all, if you have upgrade status, don't expect anything. With the lack of tower or club level, the free continental breakfast is a joke. The menu says juice with coffee or tea and a basket of breakfast pastries. They will only give you one breakfast bread and the drinks. Their only redeeming quality is the proximity of the Del Amos mall.
