Was friendly and informative of the transmission repair on the 2002 Ford Focus I had repaired under a third party warranty. They explained the process and told me what to expect.I am thankful that AAMCO was a preffered provider by the warranty provider.I plan to return to this shop to get repairs done that I am unable to do myself.
had tranny rebuilt less than 2 yrs ago. was told then that once it was rebuilt it would never come back as it would solve the problem.well guess what they lied. I have had less than 50,000 miles put on rebuilt tranny and its doing the same thing as when I took it in. when asking them about this they claim they don't know how I drive my car. well now I guess i don't know how they fix trannys. I'm guessing with cheap parts. I wouldn't recommend this place if it was the last place on earth.
I had my transmission rebuilt at Smith Brothers Transmission. This was rebuilt in the last 2 years. The transmission has 24,000 miles on it since the rebuild. The transmission is now slipping and they won't stand behind their work. I had it in for repairs after it was rebuilt in the first year and it never has worked correctly. It always needed to warm up in the morning and would slip on hills. Like the reviews people wrote on yelp and other sites I'm not satisfied with the work they did at all. Come to find out unlike the other transmission shop they have a 1 year warranty whereas the other shop offers a 3 year warranty! Says a lot about their workmanship! I'm very disappointed. Don't put yourself through this!
Great business, excellent work and the best customer service! We have taken two different vehicles there, and had great service each time.
Smith bro service my car last time I had problems I trust service.
Wow! After being taken by a transmission shop who did the power braking trick in Arizona (cost $900), what a relief to find a very honest and excellent transmission shop. I thought I had a serious and costly problem which was resolved very inexpensively.
I thought I was in a world of trouble with my transmission. I was told to go see "Rick" at Smith Brothers Transmission. He took such good care of me and my vehicle. And you couldn't beat what he charged me! He had every opportunity to take advantage of my ignorance but Smith Brothers Transmission is more than fair and extremely honest. I'd recommend them to everyone and anyone. Thank you so much Rick!! Joyce DeLaTorre
My family has been going to Smith Brothers for years for all of our transmission needs, from having my 2005 maxima transmission rebuilt 2 years ago to having our fluid and filter changed yearly. My brother in law for some reason ignored my advice and took his car to another transmission shop to have his cluch put in his kia. When they got their car back they foud the other shop had bent the struts and come to find out had put a cheap aftermarket clutch in it. I went with him and we tried to get the other place to repair what they had damaged, but they said it was not their fault and they had not even touched the struts. Well we took the car then to smith brothers, and come to find out the other shop was lieing and Rick at Smith brothers showed us that there was no way they were able to do the work they said they did without messing with the suspension. Rick and the guys helped us get the car back on the road and come to find out, they would have been almost 200 dollars cheaper on the repair, and they would have used an actual OEM Luke clutch that comes factory with the car. Lesson learned for my brother in law. The guys at smith brothers are honest, and have been rebuilding transmissions for like 30 years so they know what they are doing. When I had my maxima transmission rebuilt they were also 1500 dollars cheaper than any other shop around
Today I took my 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit in to have the transmission fluid and filter changed. They not only did a prompt thorough service, but upon calling them for an estimate, advised me not to have a transmission flush done no matter where I decided to take my car to have it serviced. They said that during a transmission flush, the service person doesn't drop the transmission pan to clean any debris that may have collected in the pan or change the transmission filter. They just hook up to the transmission lines and flush the new fluid in til all the old fluid comes out, which stirs up any debris in the pan and circulates it through your transmission which can clog the tiny screen filters in your transmission, which can ruin a transmission. Topeka Transmission does not do transmission flushes, they drop and clean the transmission pan of any gunk and debris, drain the fluid, replace the filter, and fill the transmission to factory specs with OEM transmission fluid. So needless to say, I was very appreciative of the great advice, and their prices were very competative and cheaper than the competition. I felt very confident that my car was in great hands at Topeka Transmission.
