I was hesitant to start my 3 1/2 year old in therapy because... well... he's 3 1/2... but I was desperate. I was starting feeling as though he had ADHD but his doctor suggested a different avenue with therapy and I'm so happy that I followed through. We have had 5 sessions with her and my once difficult-to-manage child is now a very loving boy who is nice to his baby brother, listens (for the most part) when I ask him to do something or say no, goes to PRESCHOOL which is something I thought impossible prior to therapy, and communicates with me when he's upset instead of crying and throwing tantrums 20 times daily. We lead a much happier life now and while some of it I attribute to him maturing I think that I have to give Joan some credit. She is very comfortable working with my young child, incorporating play into therapy and rolling with the punches and ducking from the toys flying across the room. If you're hesitating when thinking of putting your young child in therapy, don't! Like I said, I am much happier now and so is my family. I enjoy spending time with my kid again and that is priceless.
