I would go back for more of that surprising Mexican experience. The authenticity of every aspect of this place is incredible. The atmosphere, the drinks, the food and the whole shebang is what makes this place genuine.

Hidden gem in Thousand Oaks! If you want authentic mexican food this is the spot. I recommend bringing cash because there's an additional fee for cards if the transaction is under $5. Surprisingly, it's so cheap here that 5 dollars will get you a lot of food! You order and pay at the front of the store and then get your food at the back counter. The sopes are my favorite! (See the picture and you'll see why) Piled high with beans, meat, lettuce, sour cream, guac, and salsa. Order two and you'll leave very satisfied.
I ordered a burrito and Torta. I was made to wait 30 minutes. The food is already made, but the looks of the lady dishing out the food onto the bread and tortilla was rude and not wanting to be there. I also had to come back due to both my burrito and Torta were made wrong. I asked for no mayo and guess what; there was mayo and the burrito had beans. This is too bad that small places that cater to a small community or ethnic group can not see the purpose to go outside the box and have good service and good food for everyone. I am Mexican by the way and I have more of an insight then someone who was just treated poorly. BAD SERVICE
It is defamatory to call it Lupes. I used to love it, now it is horrible. Prices have doubled, 1,2,3 item combos are $10,$15,$18. Three terrible tacos with rice and beans are $18. The cheese was grated months ago and shipped. Cheese grating not too much to ask for. It has the white powder of freezer burn on it. The rice is so bad , Lupe is not rolling a burrito. She is rolling in her grave.
