The only reason I gave it one star is because they didn't have a negative number. Dave the Mobile Mechanix is a liar and lacks honor. He will take your money for a repair then not complete then when you call him to come back to finish the job he doesn't. He'll tell you he stands behind his work…

Had my windows tinted. Prices are great, workmanship is flawless. The lifetime warranty is a selling point, but we went with them because they are the only guys in the DFW area who are more anal retentive than we are. We'll be back for some vinyl wrapping very soon.

Don't go here !!! poor service and attitude . . I took my 2000 Chevy van in to have the oil changed and not only did they not top off the fluids until I asked them too but when they went to flush the radiator they said they couldn't because it was too hard to get to !

When a car is damaged by an accident or weather, what can be repaired and what must be replaced? Or is it time to buy a new car?
No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
I had an oil change and tire rotation 4 months ago. I wasnt sure i got a tire rotation so when i went in for my next oil change and tire rotation i made a mark on my front tire to test if ntb was rotating my tires. They did not rotate my tires. How many times did NTB The Colony not rotate my tires when they said they did? Did they even change my oil? They lied about rotating my tires so mayby they lied about changing my oil. When NTB gets caught redhanded nothing you can do because they are not Better Business Bureau members.Dont go to NTB 4811 State Hwy 121 The Colony, Tx
Been coming here for years. Nothing but honest down to earth people. Ive been recommending David's to family and friends for years.
They were very honest and seem to have a solid reputation in being a reliable repair service. Johnny and his team were very professional and took the time to discuss different options regarding repair and was willing to offer his honest, professional opinion based on years of certified automotive experience.
I do most of my own vehicle maintenance, but I didn't have the time or tools to replace the brakes and rotors on my truck. I called David's Automotive and they were able to take it in the next day and do the replacement. While working on the truck, Johnny called to let me know the progress and when it would be finished - which was later that day. I was able to pay over the phone and picked up the truck right as they were closing. As a small business owner myself, I appreciate the great service, contact, and quick turnaround. I couldn't ask for anything more from an auto repair company. Thanks!
I've had front suspension issues for over a year now. I've taken my 2005 GTO to several different places and purchased several apparently unneeded parts to resolve these issues. Chris said "I personally pulled and prodded on everything up front.". That almost, no joke, gave me chills. My dad always said that if something is worth doing then its worth doing right. Chris and his guys took the time and looked over all possible problems. That's worth a ton in my book. They finally found the upper strut mounts were built in the wrong order by a previous garage. He rebuilt them and called me to tell me he wasn't going to charge me for the work. Not only did he find the solution but he was gonna do it pro bono? Wow. Awesome. I wound up making him charge me something. There car has never driven better. Thanks guys.
These guys took good care of me! As a woman; I do not like going to auto repair shops because I feel like I am being taken advantage of. Not here; the shop manager took the time to explain what was needed and helped me to understand why. I will be going back when I need service on my Jeep!
Avoid this company - even if it is an emergency. I took my vehicle to Davids after my transmission started to slip. I communicated with them when I dropped off my vehicle that it was slipping from 2nd to 3rd, and would most likely need to be rebuilt. I was just looking for an estimate, as I had never visited this company before. I received a call four hours later with a rebuild estimate of $2500.00. Knowing that this was outrageous for this service, I went to pick my vehicle up and take it to another shop. Davids then proceeded to charge me $95.00 for a diagnostic on my transmission before they would give me my keys back. When asked to produce paperwork to show what they did to earn $95.00 - they gave me a sheet that said transmission was slipping from 2nd to 3rd and would need to be rebuilt. Wow - who knew I would pay $95.00 for my own words. Eagle Transmission in Lewisville completed the repair, including hard parts for less than $1600.00. Eagle Transmission did a great job. Take your vehicle there instead.
I am absolutely compelled to write this review..... Called David's Automotive Repair yesterday as my vehicle was in the midst of dying, they were very helpful on the phone and agreed that what I was experiencing was possible the fuel pump and would get me in right away. So I drove directly there and dropped the car off, again very helpful and they would call with a quote shortly. They gave me a ride to work which was nice. They called back with a price and said they could get it done today; well I nearly choked as this is a lot of money. So I called around and found that they where competitive with other shops and I understand a markup on parts and all businesses have to make money but when I did the math this was an honest deal. When I told them that the price was for the amount of work to be done was about right, they told about there warranty and I could not believe that they have a better warranty then the dealer. The fact that you can get the work done and have a better warranty then the dealer is just out of this world. I brought them a self assessed problem and they check my vehicle out completely and gave there assessment of the work that needed to be done and any other issues that could be taken care of at a latter date gave me a sense of that they really care about there customers. I would recommend this shop to my mother and everyone else. In this day an age it is hard to find a good reputable place to bring my vehicles. The icing on the cake was that they picked me up when the work was done, greeted me with a smile, answered all my questions and even said Thank You. Just really good customer service.
These folks are just the best of the best. They tell you the truth, they don t try to sell you anything you don t need, and they stand behind their work 100%. There are just not that many mechanics I trust anymore...these folks are the exception to the rule. They re not only good mechanics, they re good people. I really like the fact I can go in and know that my car will be repaired and not worry if the work has been completed or not. One time, not too long ago, I spent over $400 dollars at another repair shop for a window motor and the motor was not replaced. I have not had that issue with David s Automotive. There is no dishonesty there. Just the work that actually needs to be done on the vehicle. i have been bringing my cars to these guys for many years. i keep my vehicles for a long time. my overall repair bills are much smaller than my friends that go to their dealerships. i can always count on their recommendations and have never had unnecessary repairs proposed to me. Thanks
Best Automotive Shop In North Dallas!! Called David's Auto as my car was in the midst of dying, they were very helpful on the phone and said that what I was experiencing could be the alternator and would get me in right away. So I drove directly there and dropped the car off and they said they would call with a quote shortly. He called back with a price for a alternator and serpentine belt. It was an honest deal. I brought them a self assessed problem and they diagnosed the problem and took care of it. There are not many reputable shops out there, this from my experience. The icing on the cake was that picked me up when the car was done. I have to say that I am very pleased with every aspect of this company. The service I got from the front counter was excellent along with the owner of the company greeting me upon arrival by name. It felt like they really cared about me and my needs. They actually took the time to build a relationship with me, unlike most shops. The waiting room is filled with community involvement and they even have a water fall. They had a technician thoroughly look over my car for a few maintenance items that I requested be done as well as for their detailed inspection. He also found a few safety issues that needed attention as well with my car that I wasn't aware of. They gave me prices and told me what work would be done with my approval and even asked if they could keep my car overnight. I said that was okay and they offered to give me a ride to my house free of charge and even offered to pick me up the next day when they were finished. (Rare quality to find in a company) When they picked me up the following day I had a pleasant ride with the shuttle driver and I was greeted yet again with a smile from the staff and a clean and organized waiting room. I have to say you guys are the best in the business and my car runs better than ever. David is a 20 year Highly decorated retired Vet of the Submarine Force with medals for going above and beyond the call of duty. David's Automotive Repair goes above and beyond to make sure your car is fixed right. Thanks so much!!
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
