Do not get defrauded by this ""company"" like I did. The reason I say ""company"" in quotes is because this is a one-man operation (with an expired business license from the year 2000), who uses an assistant who invests all of her time in her own photography business instead of worrying about customer satisfaction when it comes to the ballooning business. The only time it is easy to get a call returned is before you have paid them! After that... good luck!
I purchased 4 tickets in June of 2009 at the price of $516.00 thinking that it would be a nice experience for my wife and daughters. To this day I have been unable to get a refund or a balloon ride, although from what I know now I would never get into a balloon with these people. However, long story short: We booked 3 separate flight times and ALL 3 were cancelled because of ""weather"". Keep in mind that I live close enough to Temecula to look out my window and know that they were full of it and giving us the runaround, so I recorded the weather data for each day (visibility, wind, temp.) and took photos of other balloons in the air on those days.
The most irritating part is that my wife and I both missed work for those days and essentially lost income because of these people. While trying to ask for a refund, they kept telling me that ""the tickets never expire"" and that ""they are non-refundable"" and to ""reschedule"" or ""you could always sell them to someone else"". Then they just stopped returning my calls like they do to everyone else, so I e-mailed them and told them we were going to court if we couldn't resolve this. Megan basically wrote back in a nutshell ""so sue us"". So that's exactly what I did.
In November 2010 I filed a small claims court against the owner, Mr. Glick. However, since there is no physical address for Sunrise Balloons the process server was unable to serve Mr. Glick. They claim the winery as their physical address, but when you contact the winery they claim no affiliation with Sunrise Balloons. So after spending another $150 in court/processing fees, I decided to check things out on my own. You see, the process server attempted to serve Mr. Glick at his residence, but was unsuccessful because this is how Mr. Glick lives...
He lives in an old double-wide trailer way out on a dirt road in Temecula. His driveway is so washed out from rain that he has to use a vineyard side road to access his home. He has two guard dogs on ropes that reach far enough out that you cannot go up and knock on his door, so essentially he is unreachable unless he feels like coming out (which he didn't for myself or the process server, although you could tell he was home). In his yard he has a rusty trailer with a bunch of old ballooning equipment. The process server stated he could see smoke coming from Mr. Glick’s chimney, he honked his horn repeatedly to get him to come out, but to no avail.
My point of telling you all this is not to bash this guy’s image. It is because I finally figured out that I was going to spend more money serving this guy than I was going to win in the court case. I also realized that a guy that lives like doesn’t make me feel too safe with my family’s lives in his hands and probably wasn't going to pay me if I won the case anyway! So I accepted that I had been scammed and decided it would be better if I just post reviews of my experience to warn other people about Sunrise Balloons. I literally wouldn't refer them to my worst enemy. After this post I am calling the BBB with a complaint. My advice is DO NOT risk going through what I have. I should have spent a couple more bucks on a reputable company.

I had planned on surprising my wife for our 3rd year Wedding Anniversary with a Romantic Balloon ride in Temecula Wine Country. When we arrived at our launching location at La Cereza Winery at 6AM my wife was shocked to see the banner hanging from the Hot Air balloon basket honoring our special day. The delicious hot chocolate and gourmet coffee in the romantic waiting area sitting over a fire pit to keep us warm was extremely impressive. As we waited for the balloon to be ready to launch our hostess came to us and said that the weather conditions with high winds on their way were not safe to go up. I was truly impressed with the professionalism and class that Sunrise Balloon provided us, and the integrity to not take any risk no matter how small it was at the time. We did see other balloons in the air, but the extreme high winds that caused all the horrible fires kicked in at around 8:30AM and we were thankful that we followed the advice and reschedule. There was a wedding event also planned and I saw the extra measures they put in place not to ruin their special day by setting an anchor and letting them go up only a 100 feet. I was really impressed on how Sunrise Balloons handled the whole situation.

These guys really do a nice job of taking care of you for a weekend getaway or just a day trip. My wife and I live in Los Angeles and looked into going to Temecula to do some wine tasting. We came across Sunrise Balloons and decided to give them a call. They took care of everything and had free wine tastings already set up for us at several of the wineries in the region. They even took care of a place to stay. All packaged, I couldnt believe how much this did NOT cost me! And the balloon ride over the region was so awesome! Cheers to a job well done.
