As a RN I have certain expectations yet understand the challenges a LTC/rehab facility and staff have. As a family, we were very involved and as a nurse, I had certain expectations for my father's care. I visited any time, day or night and never found things to be an issue. When I was in town I spoke to the staff at least daily and from AZ I called to find out labs, review meds, spoke to his PT/OT therapist for updates at least 3 times/week. They were polite and didn't complain and recognized it as being proactive in his health and recovery. It is ALWAYS beneficial for advocating for your own care. I felt I was reasonable and respectful in my expectations, but I had several of them and they worked hard in meeting them. Certainly there were a few recommendations I would have but they weren't significant enough to even mention. Overall, he was unhappy about going to rehab but his experience at Medilodge of Taylor was a positive one and should we ever have to seek such assistance again, there would be no shopping around...he would return to Medilodge of Taylor. Thank you staff for making his experience as pleasant as it could be.
