Great atmosphere with outstanding beer selections. Servers are attentive without being overbearing.
Skipper's has definitely cleaned up a bit since I first moved to town, and has gotten some needed and deserved national attention. What you expect it to be from the outside is pretty accurate to what you're going to get inside. Most of the food is very good, but their tendency to offer Basa and other Chinese or asian imported fish, when we're sitting on Tampa Bay is extremely confusing and I hate to say it: a major turn off. The fried food here is good, and the oyster bar is a trip back in time. Concerts are often and many old guard blues and jam musicians have played through the place.
I came in for breakfast but was too late. The nice waitress convinced me this appetizer was Sooo good so I tried it. For what I paid for it, i was expecting better. She told me it came with corn chips. I thought I was getting fresh made corn chips, not Dorittos! It was also supposed to have shredded chicken in it and I think I found one small piece. Very disappointed.
Probably my favorite place in Tampa. Thursdays are the best. Cheap wings and beer and fantastic jams :p
This place has moved to an 18,000 sq ft warehouse.....it is STILL amazing! A must see in Tampa but the hours are a bit different....call first!4706 N. Cortez AveTampa, FL 33614
Needs new management or something. It is SO smoky, that you can't even walk through and still breathe. That same old DJ just plays the same crap over and over - twinky Katy Perry remixes that no one dances to. The bartenders need to actually PAY ATTENTION to people who want to spend money! Too smoky.
Very big, 3 bars in one! Very clean and friendly.
Horrible customer service. They up charge everything without telling you. The food is better at Denny's honestly. Took 50 min to get my food. The manager does not take ownership of customer experience and is rude. If you're a tourist, go somewhere else. Don't waste your time.
I love this place. I bought my 1st year wedding anniversary here, several pieces of furniture in fact. I always find something to go home with ever time I'm there. Last visit I only spent $6 for a very cool art deco perfume bottle. The time before that I feel like I stole a broyhill table. (searched online & they were going for $500-1000 more than I paid) So lady Goo-have fun spending your whole day walking thru someone's unwanted trash in the hot Florida sun :)
Great food! Good service!
