After experiencing such a bad one at LaGuardia Airport with National Car Rental, it was great to start off with an easy transaction with the Tampa International location. However, I did not report the scratch on the car when leaving. As an Emerald Member, who are you suppose to report issues to, prior to leaving? Well National is threatening to charge me for the scratch on the vehicle after returning the car. It seems to ALWAYS be something with renting from National Car Rental.

I am an Emerald Club member and was treated poorly. I reserved a premium vehicle for 3pm in Tampa and when we arrived there were no cars. Jake, the manager on duty, refused to upgrade us to an SUV and made us wait until cars arrived. We waited until 6 pm. He said he was going to compensate us financially, but never did. NEVER USE NATIONAL AGAIN.

Requested a Full size auto and only available vehicles were economy cars and pick up trucks, had to complain and wait to receive a Ford fusion. Car came to me soaking wet as it was just turned in and rushed to delivery. I thought waiting 30 minutes for my car was bad enough No the saga continued! Upon returning the auto the inspector actually crawled under the car for inspection and noted a small spoiler piece had been dented. He informed me that the Fusions were known for this type of damage and he sees a lot of them damaged. I indicated to him and his manager I did not hit anything, nor did I park at any parking curbs and that it appeared to be old damage. Since no damage was listed on their computer I'm fighting them now to correct this injustice.

1) I will never rent a Ford Fusion

2) I may never rent from National again unless their management corrects this problem of theirs!!

I was bumped up to Emerald Club membership and was told I would get an upgraded car rental. When I went to pick a car the folks at Tampa FL airport told me I get what is there. They did not help me at all. The only car that was big enough for our luggage was filthy. The seats were stained, stained my dress. It looked like someone ate, spilled what they ate, then got sick. It was by far the worse experience with a rental company. Will not be booking through them again.
