I hate to write a bad review on an independent restaurant, but I gave the restaurant a second chance after one bad experience, and I was disappointed again. I, like another couple of reviewers below, wanted to try this pizzeria with its rave reviews as one of the top pizza restaurants in the country, and both times I wished I had decided to eat anywhere else. The service was rude the first time, but I wouldn't mind that so much if the pizza was good, but it was mediocre and generic at best.
My next order was today, which is almost two months later. I placed a delivery order for a spring salad and a small hawaiian and a thai ""salz-sa"", which is supposed to be a flatbread with a thai salad on top. We received the spring salad, which was fine, and the small hawaiian, which was soggy, the cheese was bland and cold, and we found a total of four teeny tiny little pieces of ham (their ""smoked bacon"") on the entire pizza. We also received a cheese bread (more soggy, semi-thin crust, but definitely not ""flat bread"" with bland, lukewarm cheese) served with marinara sauce and no thai salad. I called the restaurant immediately, hoping that they would replace the cheese bread with my thai salz-sa (assuming that someone else had ordered cheese bread and hadn't yet received my order by mistake), and the person who answered the phone was extremely confrontational, insisting that I didn't understand that the cheesy bread was, in fact, flat bread (with marinara sauce for a thai salad, really?). I let that go, but still inquired about my order. Finally, they agreed to send a thai salad over (the cheesy bread now disgustingly soggy and cold). My husband answered the door and inquired if I had ordered a sun chip salad. I looked in the box, and saw that the entire salad was covered completely with sun chips. The delivery person explained that this was the ""crunchy wonton strips."" No, no, they're sun chips. He seemed quite relieved when we agreed to accept the salad so that he could leave.
A salad covered in sun chips to go with cheesy bread and marinara sauce. Not really my idea of a gourmet thai flat bread pizza.
Words have meaning.

Hard to find Gourmet Pizza Company, just look out for Regions Bank and they are next door . But so glad we did. Great little pizza shop, small and quaint, sauce is fantastic and my vegan boyfriend was thrilled with the menu options. Our new little hang out.
This little restaurant is unpretentious, but the pizza is incredible. Their specialty pies are delicious, but a good basic pepperoni with caramelized red onion is hard to beat. And I say this even after living in the Philadelphia area for about three years where they claim to have the best pizza in the U.S. Gourmet Pizza Company is the best! I think better than their "competitor" in South Tampa (and you know who that would be).

Really impressed with the pizza, it was a party in my mouth. You gotta try the flatbread and pizza bread sticks.
As for pizzas we got the chicken smoked gouda, portobella gorgonzola and the kids got a plain cheese. They all won me over. Great tasty sauce, dough is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. A+ for customer service as-well.

Drive by this place all the time and finally stopped in to check out their award winning pizzas.......why did i wait so long. My wife and I are hooked. The quality is just superb and freshes of their toppings is just the beginning. We got the chicken smoked gouda and the steak gorgonzola......they just melt in your mouth. Great atmosphere with the new expansion....very cool place, very good food and very helpful and friendly staff. You must try Gourmet Pizza Company if you haven't ...there is nothing else like it.

Definitely very good pizza. Love the cheese bread too. There's nothing particularly special or outstanding about the pizza, but it is overall above average - good crust, good tomato sauce. A bit inconsistent though, sometimes they put just the right amount of cheese and sometimes they completely overdo it.
I was expecting something a bit more outstanding... for example Pizza Luce in Minneapolis has this gourmet pizza concept really perfected beyond belief. This place could learn a bit from them.
My last concern is their bathroom cleanliness was 'iffy' when I visited it.

I am a pizza critic, and this place just blows every other pizza shop out the window. From the salads to breadsticks to the pizza it's amazing. The dough is to die for, and thier specialty pizzas are out of this world. Try the portabello gorgonzola, Chicken and spinach white pizza, the bbq chicken, we love them all. Hats off to Gourmet Pizza Company for finally bringing great pizza to South Tampa.

As a vegan I was excited to see a few items on the to choose from. I opted for a cheesless pizza with tomato sauce, spinach, tomatoes, peppers and olives. The dough was good- not at all greasy, but there was absolutely no flavor in the sauce and I don't think there were any spices in it either. If a pizza is going to be cheeseless, there's got to be at least some spices going on. I also ordered a spinach salad minus the bacon /cheese. I assumed they would give me extra veggies but instead I paid 5 dollars for spinach, olives and 2- YES 2- tomato wedges. Not to mention my order took over an hour to deliver. I am not giving up though. I will try once more, this time the pesto pizza or vegan ravioli. Perhaps it was just a bad night for them over there.
