Tom is someone of highest integrity and character. This is a place you can trust with your car for honest feedback & assessment. I moved to Tampa three years ago & was fortunate enough to have found Tom from the start. When I would price compare labor and parts , this company was hands down always the most affordable and they do quality work. The knowledge of car mechanics this office has is vast and they are not greedy but truly care about the safety of their customers! Highly recommended!!!

Will only have my car serviced at direct tire

I moved to Florida from Connecticut in March 2013. When moving here I was concerned about finding an auto shop to service my 2007 Jetta. Having a Jetta I know the issues I would be running into as I added the miles onto my car. I lived across the street from Direct Tire and heard nothing but wonderful things about the service there, so when my brakes were going I decided to bring my car to Direct Tire for service. My brakes were fixed and luckily I got my car in the shop just in time before my rotors were junk. Tom was honest, upfront, and didn't jerk me around just because I am a female. In my experience I have been ripped off at a lot of auto garages just for the meer fact that I am a female. After my brakes were done, I had an oil change done by Direct Tire. They are so informative and let you know everything that is wrong with your car and give you the option to fix it or not. They are NEVER pushy or try to sell you something you don't need, which is wonderful. Tom never tries to pull the wool over your eyes like I have experienced in the past with other auto garages. I recently just went back and had all the spark plugs and coils replaced on my car. I cannot rant and rave enough about Tom and Direct Tire. Andy, a mechanic there is phenomenal as well. I rest at ease and know when my car is at Direct Tire it is in great hands. Tom takes the time to listen to you and get your car issues resolved fast, and usually offers multiple routes you can go to get your car fixed. I now have had my family members and co workers use Direct Tire for all their car needs. Everyone I have sent there has been nothing but impressed overall. I have even been in there dropping my car off and bumped into people I know in the waiting area, not even knowing that they go to Direct Tire as well. I know since March 2013 to present (June 2014) I will not bring my car anywhere but Direct Tire for all my future car needs. You cannot beat the service you get there from the minute you pick up the phone and call/walk into the waiting area, to the time you drive your car home. I have never been disappointed in any work that has been done, and always know Tom will take care of me and make sure my car is running its best.

tom, the owner is here simply to screw you over and take your money, he recently bought this business and has no clue what he's doing, his workers have no experience and some are actually paid under the table to fix your car while he's overcharging you here, he is overweight and mustache of a homeless man

I have been going to them for ...

I have been going to them for all my repairs for years. They are very reliable, and trust-worthy. There have been several times that I went in for minor issue and Tom was able to provide a fix with little time and cost. I just recently had a issue with a annoying squeaking sound that kept on coming up whenever I breaked. I dont remember the name of the part that was bad but they were able to deduce the issue very quickly and they had it fixed in less than 30mins. The part that went bad was about 10dollars to replace and the service did not take long. I highly and I mean Highly recommend them. They do not exaggerate the issues that they find, and they try to make it as fair for you as possible.

Prices are average with everyone else, service is why I would tell everyone to stay away. Tom is a salesman and a talker, he will just screw you over. Took my car to get two new tires after talking to him on the phone to get some prices, ended up agreeing to order the tires I was looking for and getting a small discount on a synthetic oil change as well. Long story short, they started to install new tires and broke my wheel lock key and ruined one lock nut, then proceded to blame who put on my rims previously and started to explain how I can purchase new wheel lock key! After about one and a half hours they were done. I paid the bill and left, only to pull out onto Hillsborough Ave. and the car start fish tailing, they never screwed the lug nuts all the way back on my rear tire! I pulled into the Pre-School next door to them and called Tom back telling him the problem. Tom sent his mechanic over to tighten everything up and then the mechanic left. So I called Tom again and told him how dangerous that was and that I was going to pick up my kids and about the what-if factor. He said all he could do was apologize and then said bye. Never again will I do any business with them. Consider yourself warned about them.

Tom and Wayne were very helpful. I had a great experience and would recommend to anyone. Best prices and great service.. I would not go anywhere else for tires and auto work. Thank you guys very much!

I went to see Tom and Wayne when I bought my present car in August,

Tire Kingdom said I needed a new rim (wheel) and your guys are just

down the street. Wayne drove my car and said I need 2 new tires, so I

bought them. I had just purchased 2 tires from Tire Kingdom so now I

had 4 new tires.



Left the garage that day and my t car was still wobbling, so I went

back and they rotated the tires and I left and the car was pulling

hard to one side so I went back the next day and they re-rotated the

tires and sent me home with it still wobbling.



I had my mechanic check out the car and he said it was the steel rim

or the tires.



I had to wait a few months to buy the rim. and went back last month to

take care of the wobbling rim. I did have an odd rim and Wayne said

he might be able to track down a rim to match my custom rims but that

was unsuccessful so, when I called Tom said that Wayne said to go to a

place called Majic Auto Parts in Clearwater Fl. Said that if they

couldn't track down a rim to match they would have a set of the steel

rims/wheels (the thing you put the tire on, diff place seem to call

them diff terms).



I was very surprised that this was a salvage place and that they had

sent a woman to a junk yard!!!!!!!!You don't send a woman to a junk

yard!!!!!!! But thought I could trust their advice. I had explained

to Tom and Wayne that I was a widow and needed a tire place that I

could trust. Not the case with your guys down here. Majic didn't have

one to match so I did what Tom told me to do and bought 4 steel

rims/wheels. Took those to The direct tire in Oldsmar, fl, They

charged me for balancing mounting rotation dn said that the alignment

shook down and still charged me for this. They put the used rims, they

new it was going to shimmy bacause the used rims/wheels were bent and

let me spend $200on this after spending $140 for the rims. I left the

car shook, so I went back and Tom talked to the mechanic and said that

they new the rims where bad but charged me for all of this and sent me

on the road with the original problem not addressed, and didn't care.



He guaranteed me on the phone that it was the rims and that he would

take care of me after I bought the new rims, so I bought new rims and

went back and he had the nerve to try and charge me and said he

couldn't be held responsible for his advice. Couldn't handle the fact

that I was complaining or was using a firm voice (not yelling)

treated me like a child and said since I was complaining the

conversation was over.



Horrible customer service, horrible business, horrible owner and

manager and what a baby that he can;t take a complaint. The guy

waiting was there for a complaint as well.



I assured Tom that everyone at my apartments would know of his

rediculouse business practice and I live in the largest apt. communtiy

1 mile from his store.



I have told everyone that I talk to of their business practices and

the best thing is that my apt. comm opened the dog park and Tom was

there to do marketing and knew exactly who I was, so I was able to

personally let everyone at the opening know not to buy tires from

them, that they gave horrible advice and ripped their customers of,

all he could say was "I don't know about ripping you off" he forgot he

charged me for the alignment after telling me i didn't need it. I do

believe in karma and he looked like a beet red fool at that event.



This is not my nature but their treatment was so rediculous that it

relly made me feel good about the time and money I wasted on their

recommendation that they could not stand behind. I haven't posted

this to our communtiy web board cuz I was sick but will d so this week

and will still tell everyone in the communtiy about how horrible their

business is,; I'm sure I am not the only one cuz the people at the

Hess conv. store close by had a bad experience.
