The only thing the clerk could say nice about the car was it had a big trunk, really, my husband is 6'7" the car was small but "a full sized vehicle" hyndai sonata, it was 2016 with 2200 miles that part was great but both back seat belts in the back would lock if you moved more than 4 inches, repeated calls but all we got is "will take care of you when you rent AGAIN", got so bad myself and my daughter had red marks on our necks from the seat belts....."will take care of you next time, here take my card" he didn't have any! What a joke, love renting there usually but this started off badly and ended badly, the ONLY thing about the rental was gas mileage and I really didn't care about that I wanted a full size car, the sonata I was told was the largest "full size" vehicle they carry unless you get a premium class!
I always get best rates with Alamo! We were on a girls trip and I rented a full size...which we always rent, the girl at the counter kept pushing me to upgrade to a premium! For $20 more a day! Then came down to $12! I told her this was big enough, she kept pushing me telling me we would not be able to get our 4 pieces of luggage in it. She even showed me a chart saying Full size only held 2 reg suitcases & 3 small which isn't what they showed online. We kept with the full size, picked a Camry which I drive at home and could have gotten another suitcase in the trunk! I think I has such a good rate she was trying to get me to oaying more! Only thing I didn't like was my key did not electronic door/trunk opener, I had to manually unlock the driver door and pull lever to open trunk...a bit of a pain!
I have used Enterprise before where I live, but this was my first time out of town. I had selected another rental service, but changed due to the high security deposit they asked for, the night before my trip. Enterprise set up my rental with no problems, and only charged a small percentage extra for security, since I don't have a major credit card. The person on the phone was very polite, the clerk at the desk, was extremely nice, and the young lady who walked me through the check out/in process was very nice as well. I recommend this agency to anyone looking for affordable, reliable transportation, with or without a major credit card, which is extremely hard to find these days. Thank you Enterprise for being there for me and my family when we needed!
We rented a standard car at Tampa International Airport and it was very comfortable for a smaller car but unfortunately, something came loose (?muffler/ catalytic converter) and it made some really loud sounds. It was quite an ordeal trying to call on the phone to get information on how to exchange the car. After being hung up on and transferred to several different individuals, we found out we had to bring it back to an airport Enterprise rental to exchange it. They did the exchange quickly (minutes) and upgraded us to an Impala for no charge. Not as good mileage but drove nicely. We are very happy about how smoothly the exchange went but I think Enterprise should put a working/appropriate phone number to contact you quickly
Rented full size auto, when we got to car the service person said all he had was a Toyota Corolla ! Sails NO, after my promise of leaving, gave us a Chey SUV, I ok. Drove 70 miles to condo, shut off to find I do not have electronic key. Alarm goes off when doors open, neighbors complain! Called Enterprise Tampa, no reply after message. Called Enterprise road service , expected them to drop off car, NO! You have to go to Sarasota to change vehicles. Wasted on day of my vacation on this !! Not happy, Retured to Tampa airport after vacation and they took 80 off rental. Not the money, Vacation strained on renting form Enterprise, Will evaluate next vacation rental.
The staff was so friendly and helpful. I got the best deal in the area! I was getting my car repaired and they gave me a Mid Size Car for $21.99 because I was referred by the Auto Shop. It is very stressful when your car is broke down but the experience at Econo Auto Rentals really helped my situation. Cheapest Car rental that I have ever been to and I will tell everyone that I know that are in Tampa or traveling to Tampa to call Econo Auto Rentals and check out their rates and discounts first before they go anywhere else. The other car rentals prices change so often but Econo was Great I really saved.
I have a good/ & not-so-good review of my recent experience with Enterprise. The receptionist was wonderful, & so was the lot employee. However, my 'car' was not available...so for $11 more per day, I could get a larger car. Since I had a meeting 60 miles away, I took the larger car. No problems with the car- very nice. No problem returning the car. However, I was SHOCKED at all the extra charges, on top of the $11 per day increase! I did not think the charges were fair! Since most people are trying to catch a flight- there's no time to go over the charges. I doubt I will use Enterprise again.
Easy and fast! Checked in online, so just put my reservation # in at the kiosk, got a little slip of paper from it, headed to the garage, followed signs to Alamo area. Found the Economy SUV section, picked out a Jeep (keys inside), loaded baggage, drove vehicle (following signs to check out) to little building at garage exit, gave my slip of paper & showed my drivers license.... on my way. So easy! Returning to airport, even easier..... followed signs to car rental return, parked in a line of vehicles, baggage guy got my bags out.... man checked mileage and gave me a receipt. Done! Love it!
Everything went well until return of the car. We had reserved through Costco and had a set price. The final bill presented to us was higher and we had to go to the office. It seems that they added over $50.00 for SiriusXM radio which we never asked for or were aware that it was available. We presented our papers from Costco at check in and presumed all was well. They asked if we wanted extras such as insurance, gas, car seats but never mentioned SiriusXM. If we had been in a hurry at return we may have not checked the price. I find this to be deceptive and never expected it from Enterprise.
Each time I need to rent a car I always opt for Alamo because I get a great rate, very clean and dependable car with no issues. I love renting from this location because they have a great selection to choose from and they have never failed me yet. The Service is also great...very friendly and helpful staff. Other places put a hold on your card for so much but Alamo charges what the total rental is as when you are on vacation you need to have your card as a backup. Thank you so much for your great service.
