I have nothing but great things to say about MLE. My daughter is currently talking piano lessons there with Achia for over 10 months. I took her from another place in Tallahassee that she was going for 2 years. Since she started in MLE she has been progressing so much and loves to practice between lessons. Her teaches is amazing, always on time and challenges my daughter with her music. I would recommend MLE to anyone who want to progress in music and have a professional, but fun atmosphere.

My granddaughter took violin lessons from MLE and I would highly recommend them. Before going with MLE she took lessons from Mason's which was not working well the price was higher, it was hard to get lesson times, and she never could relate to her instructor, which is very important. Achia, her MLE instructor gave in home lessons, was always on time, understanding of a 12 year old girls trials and tribulations and very encouraging. My granddaughter along with her parents of course moved to Gainesville and we are having a hard time finding a good replacement.

I've been a teacher at MLE for three years and I'd like to respond to the negative review listed here. It is true that MLE hires many college students- usually graduate music education or performance studios- as instructors. This is true of any of the local music studios, but the fact that they are still in college doesn't necessarily speak to their expertise. Lessons with a highly experienced, older teacher in the area will cost up to 3x as much and will not offer the flexibility of coming to any location as MLE does. It sounds as if she had a bad experience with one instructor, but certainly not a typical one!
Also, other than the monthly lesson payments (which are the cheapest in town), instrument expenses, and a yearly registration fee to cover book expenses, etc., there are no "hidden fees."

They use college students as teachers, so your teacher will likely change every semester or two, which is very confusing, and bad for your child. The teachers are often late, or just do not show up at all. We were not very happy with my kids taking guitar lessons here, so we moved them to a smaller teacher. Very expensive, and a lot of hidden fees too!
