Morelia Mexican Dining

Was very good when it was open

My husband and I just moved to Tallahassee from Cincinnati. Since relocating we have been going around trying all of the Mexican restaurants in the area. Today we tried Morelia Mexican Dining, and have to say that it was awful. Upon walking in, the restaurant was empty, not too unusual considering it was a Wednesday and around 3pm. I ordered the Pollo con Crema (Chicken with Cream), and my husband got the Bistec a la Parilla (Grilled Steak). Well, the chicken was hard, crispy even, and the cream was literally sour cream. It was burnt chicken in sour cream. There was no flavor! Not only that, there were brown hard things in the cream. At first I thought it was mushrooms, but then came to find out it was green pepper. How did this green pepper get to be hard and a purple brown color!? The rice had no veggies, was white, and was absolutely not Mexican rice. The steak, which we asked to be medium, was brown all the way through. It was dry and smelled bad. Neither one of us complain about food, but both have worked in the restaurant business and wouldn't have ever served food like this. The steak and chicken tasted as if they had been frozen for months. When the waiter came back he asked if we weren't hungry anymore, and I told him the truth. He made no effort to fix the issue and handed us the bill. We paid our bill, and left all of it on the table. I have never walked out without finishing half of my plate, but this, I can honestly say, my wiener dogs may have walked away from. So far with our tour of Mexican restaurants in the area, the best has been the one located on Third and Monroe.

If you're looking for some great mexican food at reasonable prices, then try Morelia's. They are very quick and the staff is great.
