Overall

Snce moving to Tallahassee with my dog, I have been using Los Robles Animal Hospital as my secondary vet since his regular vet is in Jacksonville, Florida. I was pleased with the service for the past year, and was impressed with the friendliness of the staff. I did find it suspicious some of the charges i was issued for simple things like ear cleanings for $70, which my primary vet had never done, however, I overlooked these small differences between what I was used to because I trusted the knowledge and experience. However, after moving this past fall semester with my Chocolate Lab, 1 year old, I realized his eating habits we're not typical and he was eating slower, smaller amounts, and was not his usual fast eater, he was finishing his meals slowly but surely, this had been occurring for a few days he was home with my parents and for the first week I had brought them up to Tallahassee. I called Los Robles hoping to make an immediate appointment, Richelle who I talked to was very friendly and helpful after I stated for about two weeks or less he had not been eating (poor wording, because he was finishing meals just not in typical behavior) she suggested I just drop my dog off when I could; after getting off the phone I realized that dropping him off was not something I was interested in, because he would be traumatized and I didn't want tests run without my knowledge. I called back and spoke to the most rude and un-proffesional staff member I have ever encountered. I calmly and politely stated that I would not feel comfortable dropping him off and leaving him so they did not need to accommodate for him that day, and I would find another vet because they had no available appointments. She accusingly spoke to me as thought I had no concern for my dogs well being. I was appalled to say the least that a professional woman could speak to a customer this way. As I became defensive about the issue she was increasingly more rude to me as though I had a lack of concern for my dogs well-being and "how dare I" not drop him off to see their vet. I have never been spoken too in such a manner, and it really shook me up to put it at the simplest form. This woman was rude through our entire back and forth conversation even as I explained the circumstances and my bad wording of the problem, stated I was only calling to be polite because I would be taking him to another vet in which i could be with him the entire time, not being a neglectful, abusive, selfish dog owner as she accused me to be. I am still in shock that this employee felt it necessary and acceptable to speak to a customer in such a manner, knowing I am a young student who may be seen as someone not to take seriously is no excuse, being a young woman who is also interning with corporations who highlight customer service and a polite friendly attitude, I can say that this is one of the worst situations I've ever encountered as a not only a customer, but as someone who is aspiring to be apart of an industry dealing with customers. Needless to say, my dog and I will never under any circumstance be customers of Los Robles Animal Hospital and I will make sure to tell all fellow dog owners in this area of my experience and how belittled I felt. In the same day I took my dog to Tallahassee Regional Animal Hospital to which I was relieved and impressed by the amazing staff, genuine concern for my dog and myself, as well the service from the vets, techs, front staff.. everyone. I will almost be grateful for my horrible experience with Los Robles because I found a better vet for my dog and I.

DO NOT USE THIS VET. All they are trying to do is weasel as much money as out if you as possible. I got my dog spayed with them because I was led to believe that it was included in the puppy plan I previously bought and then when I went to pick my dog up afterwards they decided to mention it was going to cost me $400!!! And were not even apologetic that they had led me to believe that it was part of the plan, and even told me it was my fault!! This staff is rude and the way they treat people is completely unacceptable, I would keep your pets as far away from them as possible.

I took my dog to this vet for ...

I took my dog to this vet for years until she passed away and they were the sweetest and most loving folks on the planet. When my dog became very ill, the vet volunteered to take my Little Bit home with her so she could keep and eye on her. Sadly she had had a stroke and left us that same day. I will never forget the human touch with which they reached out to my little family, my dog and I, and I can only sing their praises. They always did her grooming as well. Big thumbs up.
