Conveniently located across from Governor's Square Mall, I had the opportunity to dine with friends one evening on a recent visit to Tallahassee. Arriving right as Happy Hour was ending - 6:56 p.m. - Damien H was our server. My two friends and I were quickly seated in the bar area. 2 "Happy Hour" Bacardi and Coke's for me, and a white peach Margarita for each of my friends. Dinner was quickly ordered - 10 piece bone-in chicken wings and a large gourmet five neat pizza. Pizza was great - and only cost $12.98 with the 50 percent off Happy Hour special. Chicken wings were average in taste and were priced 50 percent off at $5.63. Margarita's were a dollar off at $8.50 each and the Bacardi and Coke's were $4.00 each for Happy Hour. I'm a cheap date. Damien was a friendly and polite server, although busy. From my vantage point, he seemed overworked, but he did make it back to our table several times during our visit. Restaurant was busy, but seemingly well run. The hostess quickly seated all guests immediately upon arrival. Plenty of parking and central location on Apalachee Parkway, near downtown Tallahassee. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. I would stop at this particular BJ's Restaurant on a future visit to Tallahassee, but most certainly during Happy Hour for the great specials.William E. Conveniently located at the seat of Florida government - on the 10th floor of the Florida Capitol Building - I've had the opportunity to enjoy Sharkey's premier coffee on a number of occasions. Clean location and friendly staff, Sharkey's Capitol Cafe is a full-service restaurant serving visitors, legislators, government officials and state employees with Fresh from Florida ingredients. This particular location even has a great view of the Old Capitol building and the surrounding Tallahassee area. Need to have your shoes shined? You will find a shoe shine location at the very entrance of Sharkey's Capitol Cafe. A few televisions are also present, turned to your favorite news station. Plenty of seating from what I can determine.Captive audience with a Florida Capitol location - but you must visit. Never know who you might meet while enjoying lunch or just a cup of coffee.William E. Lewis Jr.Fort Lauderdale, Florida
The girl from the bakery with the short hair was very rude and condasending. If im going to pay almost 9 dollars for a slice of cake i would expect decent customer service.
My wife and i went for dinner June 30th for our 33rd wedding anniversary. I ordered the flounder she ordered wings, I didn't care for the fish but didn't want to wast it. BUT this is the great part, the manager said my job is to make you happy and he certainly did, the man was out standing. He bent over backward to make sure i had a great dinning experience. The waitress was fa nominal, i don't normally leave reviews but the folks at forest village Hobbit deserve kudos, that's the way you run a business, Thanks gang we will be back. 5 stars
Awesome fresh vegetables grown on premises. Gourmet Chef on duty and cooks all meals. Even the southern tea was better than average. Great staff. Country setting. Walk thru herb gardens. Definitely one of the best in Tallahassee.
Great food and good people. Excellent service.
The best curbside service I have ever had. Quick and convenient.
Paul provides the imagination. Exhibit A - Coffee Jalopeno sauce on the Burner Burger. I'd buy a bottle if I could.
Great food - I've been twice and the seafood platter was very filling and fresh. The wings and burgers another time were just as good. Food a '5' - ambiance a '2' - Rated a '4' because the place itself is not comfortable to eat in. Super for take out.
When my husband and I were seated we couldn't hear each other talk due to the staff speaking very loudly over the music. We now know all their weekend plans and social statuses - it was as if we were invisible and the restaurant was their livingroom . This didn't seem to bother the manager. Our food was good but our waitress constantly passed us by; she was careful not to make eye contact. We waited ridiculous amounts of time for service. The place was nearly empty so no excuse. We will eat somewhere else next time.
