The first year my daughter moved in there was no problems. I would of gave it 5 stars. The second year (2015-2016) was a different story. They have sold ALL of the parking spots so visitors, especially overnights, have no where to park. Getting your own parking spot for your car is a problem. You can park in paid parking spots first hour free only. If you get a guess parking pass than make sure they are VERY clear on where you need to park. Our son was towed with a pass. My husband and I were towed and we had to walk in the rain to a very dark and dingy place to get our brand new car. Also DO NOT rent from there if you are graduating during the summer semester at FSU. They won't let you pay to stay an extra week and the leasing manager will be VERY rude and tell you the only way to stay another week is sign the lease for another year. Considering people can't move in until way past Aug. 1st this really shouldn't of been a problem. I blame the new management.
This is the worst place. DO NOT LEASE HERE. Illegal car towing monthly. They have no feeling or regard for students. You will wait weeks for maintenance. You have been warned!
Gestapo-style "maintenance inspections" where they email residents a one week window "no appointments allowed" where they barge into your apartment, whether you tell them no or not (or post "do not disturb" or are a night shift worker, there is NO respect nor quiet enjoyment of your rented space. Here is a sample email they sent: Dear Residents, We will be conducting our routine inspections starting tomorrow Wednesday, May 21st, 2014. The inspection will consist of us visiting your apartment in order to inspect for any damages to the unit. We will visit all units and will not be setting up appointments for visits. We will be inspecting from 5/21-5/31/2014.Highly advise do NOT send your college student to Lynd corporate ghettos. They also charge $50/month for "furniture rental" then provide only glorified stuffed bags for mattresses (no spring no foundation, setting your child up for a lifetime of back pain issues!)
Yes the rent is cheap, but it is not worth the stress. The property manager is rude and on a power trip. If you hang outside your apartment she says your loitering. She makes up phony complaints and refuses to let some people even fill out an application for an apartment. People sit outside smoking pot and they do apartment inspections every couple of months. Its feels like a prison not a home. She is not a nice person and yells at residents for stupid crap. DO NOT RENT AT GLEN OAKS
I am a current resident here and i am very disappointed i moved in here thinking this was the best home away from home money could buy and i was disappointed. With one of the highest rents in tally i thought i would have no worries....black criminals jump the fence everyday and rob every ones cash and valuables i am a personal victim from this so i am passionate ... the retreat claims to hire security but I've only seen a seat soccer mom in a uniform walking around the would be incapable of defending a infant ... on top of that the management is here is very rude and inconsiderate their always harassing you about something and compared to other places I've lived its outrages they can't just let us live and they are very unprofessional and rude about it .. they are also overweight which is not the way the first lady is trying to get this direction going .... on top of all that literally everything in the cottages breaks or malfunctions and thats not just me talking but everyone that i know here constantly complains about it and the maintenance team is a group of overaged potheads who get nothing done .. literally i smoked weed with a member of the staff here and got an instagram picture ... long story short highest rent in town and you get grade D level living theres so many other better and cheaper places in tally
