I would highly recommend Clippership to my family & friends and would certainly use them again. Clippership is a caring, family owned business that wants your Alaska time to be special.Their inventory is huge, which consists of gently used, rented vehicles. Their top priority is to provide a safe RV with a rock solid engine, great tires, a clean interior, everything in good working order, and with all the provisions. Our experience was excellent. We actually needed the vehicle earlier than expected. They quickly accommodated and found another vehicle. We didn't have to wait. We signed papers, did a tutorial walk through, and we were ready to go. We added groceries and everything else was there. We soon discovered driving through Alaska in an RV is the dream vacation. We realized that we actually didn't remember everything about the tutorial, but soon found in the cabinet, a complete written guide covering everything. We never found anything wrong, missing, broken, or worn with our RV.We stopped by Clippership's office in the middle of our vacation simply because we were looking for a dump station. They quickly dumped us, filled our water, checked our battery power, and on everything else. Then, we were again, happily on our way. The entire team at Clippership works very hard to provide you with an extremely safe, reliable RV and they want you to enjoy every minute of your Alaskan vacation. They exceeded all of our expectations! 5 stars all the way! Also, their prices are by far the best of any RV rental in Alaska.

These guys SAVED our Alaska Adventure! A big thanks to Ashley, and everyone else for their great customer service. We had a last minute cancellation with another rental and they found us a vehicle and helped us out big time. After landing we grabbed a cab, the driver informed us we were getting a GREAT DEAL on the price of our RV. He told us that competing companies were charging 3x what we paid. If you are traveling Alaska on a budget this is a GREAT company to rent from.True, it was 13 years old but well maintained. It got us up and down the BEAUTIFUL SEWARD HIGHWAY, no problem. We didn't use the oven or stove (the oven door was dented, how does that happen?), but the microwave was fine. The right side door rear view mirror was jumpy (and taped, huh?) but we delt with it. Overall, we had a fantastic time and a trip of a lifetime, thanks to Clipperships. It was a simple check in and check out, got our deposit back in full.On a side note, after reading reviews of the company before arriving something, became very clear. Customer expectations: If you land and expect every nuisance of your trip to be catered to this is a weak fallacy. This company will provide you with a reliable vehicle and the rest of the trip is up to you. Rent Clipperships if you want a solid vehicle on a budget price.
We rented an RV for a week. Tye Smiles took very good care of us. She did a walk thru and orientation of the RV that was awesome! She answered all of our questions. We will be back! I highly recommend this company for your needs.
We rent every year and we love it! Out and about enjoying to woods with family and friends! check them out they will hook you up!
Our first ever RV rental was from Clippership this past Aug / early Sept (we had it for 11 days). We did not encounter any issues with RV or their personnel. Coral checked us in and out and was very thorough with both walk arounds. She answered questions professionally and we found a few other workers very personable. We had a late night arrival and their policy is to allow you to sleep in your RV beforehand, we found this to be fantastic idea as you are on site and no extra hotel charge. Short taxi ride from airport too! They have several choice tiers to choose from (each tier is how old the camper is). We did choose the higher tier as the price differences wasn't much. The older the model, the more it's been used (no brainer!) We will be renting from them again next year.
Rented Class C for 2 weeks. It was a GOLD Model so no more than 2 years old. Don't expect brand new unless your the first one renting, knowing that you will be OK. We had some issues but they took care of them, most employees want to care, but they are SUPER busy all the time. Kind of a rag, tag place but they had the best price and it worked out for us.
This was my second year to travel to Alaska and the first time to rent an RV from Clippership RV. I will say that I was hesitant after reading reviews from other people. What I took into consideration was the complaints they had written, many which seemed minor for anyone who has owned an RV themselves. I took a chance on Clippership RV and they did not fail. This business offers RV'S from several years old to new. If you want to pay less, then rent an older unit but if you want a newer nicer RV, then you have to spend some money! My experience was great. I rented the 30' Thor, which was new with low mileage. The unit was ready when promised, completely stocked (at no exaggerated rental fees), clean, and everything worked. The girls in the office were very friendly and helpful and bent over backwards to give us any extra blankets and towels, again without any extra fees. There were minor cleaning issues but then again...it's an RV, not the Hilton. We rented three ice chest, four chairs, three fishing poles/tackle and a grill and it was only an extra $73 for the entire week,! Other places I rented from wanted that amount per day! As for comparison this was a BIG RV, not a van cab, and it was $550.00 cheaper than the other company I used. I STRONGLY urge you to pay the $30 a day insurance for windshield chips because I am 2 for 2 on rocks hitting the windshield!! I don't write many reviews but felt compelled to do so here because those who are thinking about renting an RV should not expect a hotel, afterall you are going to the Alaskan wilderness where you are not the top of the food chain;) Have fun
Renting and RV from Clippership Motorhome Rentals in Anchorage was for us a very positive experience. For us Europeans a vacation to Alaska is often a once in a lifetime dream, and a bad experience with your RV can make or break your vacation. The cost of the RV is probably also the biggest single cost factor of the vacation. We were out a bit late, and others did not have any suitable homes available any more. The communications prior to renting was very positive and professional, and we did not really have any unanswered questions once we decided to rent the RV. At pickup the RV size we had booked was for some reason not available, but we got one a couple of foot bigger instead. Needless to say at no extra charge. This actually turned out to be a very positive thing, because the additional space was very nice to have on the inevitable rainy days you do get in Alaska. If you do get a bigger RV make sure you inform the ferry companies if you have pre booked tickets based on a particular vehicle size. They are very strict, and if your vehicle is bigger than booked you might not get on the ferry, something that the person instructing us about the RV claimed did not matter. This is the only "negative" experience we have had with Clippership. It obviously also increases the ferry costs. The RV was spotless when we received it, and upon requesting more blankets and bed linen we were promptly given additional sets. We had absolutely no problems with the RV during our stay. We drove about 2700 miles around Alaska and Yukon in 3 weeks in July 2014, and the only mishap was a faulty water hose for the water connection to city water. Having called Clippership we were told to buy one and keep the receipt. When we returned the RV it was checked by Clippership and everything was found in good order, and we were informed that we would receive the refund for the hose together with the deposit. When we had returned to Europe the deposit USD 500 that we paid was returned to the credit card, as was the cost of the hose we bought. All in all a very positive experience and we would definitely use Clippership again if we are lucky enough to return to wonderful Alaska at some time.
Our experience with Clippership was excellent from the beginning. Not only do they have good customer service, but their prices are much less than that of their competitors. And they don't nickel and dime you for every little thing. So for travelers on a budget (like us), Clippership was the perfect option. We rented the smallest camper available, and it was ready for us when we arrived. They took us through and explained where everything was. Less than an hour after arriving, we were on the road. Our Alaskan adventure included 4 nights in Denali National Park. On our first night we noticed that the furnace wasn't functioning as normal, and the refrigerator indicated low battery. After a very cold night, I called Clippership the next morning and was immediately connected with their mechanic (Sergei). He patiently guided me through what to check. After 20 minutes he told me there was a problem with the battery and he would have to send someone out to help us. He gave me his cell number and told me someone would be out to help us. We went about our day and when we came back, the RV still wasn't fixed. Now, this was over Memorial Weekend. We forgot traffic would be bad out of Anchorage, and Denali is about a 4 hour drive. Finally Les from Clippership showed up with 2 brand new batteries. He was apologetic about the long delay and got right to work. In no time at all, Les installed the batteries. He checked the generator to make sure all was well. Then he gave me his personal cell number and told me to call him if there were additional problems. What could have ended up as a disastrous and uncomfortable vacation was fixed with great customer service with the assistance of Sergei and Les. Their patience and attention to detail made our trip in a Clippership RV very memorable. Thanks Clippership! Sergei and Les deserve some serious kudos for jobs well done.
